Ok..firstly lets start to understant the concepts of competitions....these companies want you to notice their brand. Companies and businesses run competitions for many reasons...they aren't just being generous. Let's go through them quickly 1: Purchase required. They want you to buy their product for you to be eligable to win their competition. 2: Subscribe: They want you to subscribe to a newsletter /facebook/ twitter/ magazine etc. By having you subscribe to these mediums, businesses can contact you via email and let you know more about their brand. This is another way for them to directly advertise to you. These are just a couple of things that you may have to do to be able to enter these competitions. So fact is you will get spam into your inbox. A good way of seperating them from your personal email account is to set up an email through yahoo or google, or any other free email account.Receiving newsletters also means you will know of any other upcoming competitions that these companies run, so it is worthwhile having a look..if you want to.
