Flashes of memories - MUGABE MUST GO!!! ZIMBABWEANS NEED THEIR HOME BACK

There are as many nights as days, and the one is just as long as the other in the year's course. Even a happy life cannot be without a measure of darkness, and the word 'happy' would lose its meaning if it were not balanced by sadness - Carl Jung To be at one with God is to be at peace ... peace is to be found only within, and unless one finds it there he will never find it at all. Peace lies not in the external world. It lies within one's own soul. - Ralph Waldo Trine

Just coz....

a lock finds a key
because something needs to be opened
a bird flaps its wings
because it needs to fly
a cork seals a bottle
because it is the ettiquette of wine
a newborn baby cries
because it needs its mother
a question mark follows a question

because it needs an answer
a cloud forms
because the Earth sneezed
a wave rolls in
because the shore needs to be cleansed

I am closed...
because

I am free...
because

I am confined...
because

I sob...
because

I ask...
because

I am...
because

I need to be cleansed...
because

Ash,

I love this poem and the picture is dreamy, sublime, melting?

Wow . . .

I had a book once called 'I am' . . . it was a pocket sized book of huge proportions in its message and scope - just like this beautifully crafted poem of yours. It made me think, just like this beautiful poem of yours ... and, It was one of the last books I ever loaned to a 'friend' never to see it again . . . *tongue in cheek* I hate people who don't return books that are loaned to them and I always remember that one of the virtues involves never loaning a book that is not yours to loan, becuase it is on loan to you ... *lol* that is not virtuous and I suppose you could apply that to DVD's and Cd's now too...

Why don't people return books that have been loaned to them? What is it that makes it easy to steal them so, and after such generosity has been bestowed upon the lender by the loaner?

Anyway, I digress (again)...

This little book from the 'I am,' spoke to the reader as if the soul was talking directly to you and was so powerful in its message, just like your beautiful poem ... I should recommend both to anyone who sees one of either ..

I am going now...
Because I must.

*affection*

Lilla ...

ps can I ask where this was taken?

...as are your words...you don't need a camera to convey imagery Ash.

Your words capture the moment.

Lilla...I am with you on this....grrrr.

Ash -

This is remarkable. Every line has its own voice, its own image, its own message. So well put together, so eloquent, so poignant. And the picture is incredible.

This speaks to me with more than words and pictures.

How are you?

Greetings Tammy,

Thank you....oh I just love your bubbly energy you bring... it`s like you have a huge grin everytime you write something... I get all excited when I read what you say *grin*

I read your post on your trip to Sedona... and loved the photo too. It sounds like a place everyone needs to visit at some stage or another.

Upon Lilla`s recommendation (a few comments down from yours) I managed to find a chakra clearing CD yesterday. I didn`t have time to listen to it or do any of it but I skipped through it quickly before bed.... OH HI! Just listening to this lady's (Doreen Virtue) voice and the music in the background was enough to make me fall asleep.... this weekend her and I have a date!!! with a hot bath too.... heaven!

thanks for your comment, look forward to more of your posts and visits

Hiya Lilla,

I shall have a look for this book. Don`t even get me started on book thieves. I reckon a lot of people do not get this concept because to them a book is a book. To me I think I still have every book I ever owned. When we moved over here my books were the only things that I made sure came with... I still have all my Puddle Lane books and Ladybird`s from when I was just starting to read... they were my treasures and still are. My mom used to loan my books out (against my will) until she loaned out 'Pillars of the Earth' (one of my favourite books!!!) and the person never returned it... that was it! The final straw! Thank goodness mine can be replaced (Not the point though... that sentiment of the original is still not there) ... I hope you find another copy of yours!

whew!

thank you for your kind words This picture was taken at the Pumicestone Passage in Caloundra (I`m not sure if it is Bulcock Beach or Happy Valley as there are signs for both there!)

hugs

Hiya Dusk,

*welcomes another book thief despiser* thanks Dusk... don`t you just love this time of day... Dusk? Those last little moments before the sun sinks into the ground... it`s like the whew moment for the day when everything stands still and you get that feeling of it`s all good ... can see why you were named after it

hugs

Ash, "Thanks, what a wonderful sweet thing to say to me!!" you just made my whole week. <soft smile> i am a very possative, happy person. i think sometimes i make people sick though because i'm soo possative. i just am. i learned it mostly from my hubby. i use to not understand how he could always look on the bright side of EVERYTHING. i aksed one day how he does it and he said "worrying about things never helps. it's either going to happen or it isn't. theres no need in getting worked up over it." i LOVE the way his mind works.
oh i LOVE Doreen Virtue. i have her "Contacting angels kit."it smells sooo dreamy and i can't wiat to try it out. have fun with your CD. i think those things are soo great.
yes, EVERYONE should go to Sedona atleast once. the earth is sooo alive and vibrant with colors there. i just love it and plan on retiring there. sooo much art everywhere.
Thanks for the comments. i look forward to reading may things you write!

As a poet/photographer, I enjoy the "duplicate world" in which you travel. They evoke the meaning and truth of human experiences not in abstract terms, as in philosophy, but in a more perceptible and tangible form with your meaning strong, clear and sure.

Hiya Dean

Great to see ya buddy! A compliment coming from such a talented writer than you!

I wrote this really late a few nights ago, just one of my insomnia rambles. I really admire people who can write with music on... I find it distracts me, music is powerful stuff... takes you on journeys all of it`s own.

Good to see ya... I hope Brisvegas is treating you well.

Hi Tammy

What a lovely man your husband sounds... it seems like he really does have the right attitude.... and the fact that it has rubbed of on you is great. I try really hard to think that way myself... maybe it is something that happens as you get older?? I hear your 20`s are very trying times.... LOL ain`t that the truth!

I am packing up my CD and going on a road trip this weekend.... I just love being outdoors... I bought Doreen Virtue's book today... and now the title has slipped my mind.... 'The Lightworkers' ??? Anyways it really pulled at me when I was in the bookstore and I started to read it when I was having dinner.... oooh my eyes are itching to read it... she is certainly very, very inspiring.

Look forward to seeing you sooon

Ash, have a safe and wonderful road trip!! yep, our twenties sure are trying. i think we become more who we are, in our thiryies. they are my favorite years and i hear it just gets better in the 40's and 50's. hubby and i are going to take two years and travel all over. i say in an RV, but the way those things break down even when new, i'm not sure where. we'll stay at timeshares, hotels and campgrounds. not staying long anywhere. 14 more years, unless he decides to retire early. since we want to foster again, he probably wont.
have fun!!!

Hi Tammy

Thank you... i had a wonderful weekend away... I always feel so refreshed when I spend time enjoying Mother Nature and don`t have to talk to anyone, do anything, be at someone`s beck and call, look after anyone..... you know how it goes!
Your idea sounds great! Happy travels... you have something to look forward to for sure... I expect this is the time that a couple really gets to know each other, without the interruptions of work and children... how exciting for you both
