Just another ghost story Chapter 8: Balancing acts

Dean wakes up. Candi is still asleep beside him. He gets up and goes to check who called him last night. He hoped it wasn’t Sammy needing something. The number on his cell is unknown, but there is a message. He puts the phone to his ear to listen.

The message says, “Dean, its Mila. Where are you guys? I’m worried about Starla. She’s like my sister. Give me a call, please!”

Dean looks over at Candi. Then he goes outside to call Mila. She answers on the first ring.

Dean says, “What’s up, Mila?”

Mila says, “Dean, one of the nurses saw me with you before you left. The police think I was part of what you and Sam did to that waiting room. I lost my privileges at the hospital. Why did you guys chop up the waiting room like that? I’m just driving because I didn’t know what to tell the police…”

Dean says, “Woe, slow down. Just meet me here in Norfolk, Virginia. There is a huge sign a few minutes after you get into Norfolk for a Diner. I’ll meet you there. Do you think you can find it?”

Mila says, “Yeah, I’ll call you when I get closer. Is Starla with you?”

Dean says, “She’s with Sam. She’s fine with him.”

Candi walks out to the parking lot. She rubs Dean’s back while he is on the phone with Mila. He gives her a huge Grin.

Dean says, “I’ll see you later.”

He hangs up. He turns to Candi and kisses her. Then he looks her up and down. She has her waitress dress on but it is unbutton to just above her belly button.

Dean says, “I was out here so I wouldn’t wake you. Do you work today?”

Candi says, “I’m free all day to entertain you if you want me to.”

Dean says, “That would be real good, but I have some things to do with my brother today. You want a ride home?”

Candi says, "I sure do want a ride. How long we got before you have to check in with your brother?”

Dean says, “I have time to take you home. I can even stick around for a little entertainment.”

Sam is in the bathroom on the phone when Jessica wakes. He sees her wake and turn her head toward him. He smiles. He turns away from her finishing his phone call.

Sam says, “We’ll get together later, bye.”

Sam walks back in the main room. Jessica sits up on the side of the bed. She has put on one of his t-shirts. Sam kneels before her. He looks up into her eyes. She runs her fingers through his hair.

Sam says, “How are you this morning, Jess?”

Jessica says, “I feel ok Sam. I feel stronger than I did yesterday that’s for sure.”

Sam says, “I’m glad you feel stronger today. Do you feel like giving me more?”

Jessica says, “Get the knife. We could both use more.”

Sam grabs his pocket knife from the nightstand without moving his eyes from Jessica. She leans in to kiss him. She feels the cool steel of his blade as he slides it up her inner thigh. He kisses her as he makes a cut. He goes down to drink. It tastes warm and sweet. She falls back on the bed.

Jessica says, “Sam, take what you need. It’s going to be ok now. This is good for us.”

When he has his fill Sam comes up over Jessica on the bed.

Sam says, “Thank you Jess. You taste so sweet. You make me feel so good. It’s your turn now. It’s what you need now. I know that feeling way to well.”

Sam rolls her so she is on top now. With one hand he rubs her back. With the other he takes the pocket knife and cuts his neck. His blood starts running down. Jessica licks what is escaping his wound. Then she drinks from the cut. It’s much sweeter this time. She actually finds the taste pleasant which she never thought she would when Anna told her what she had to do to help Sam.

Sam says, “That feels so good Jess. Take as much as you need. Your right, this is good for us.”

Jessica gets her fill. She feels even better. She almost feels as good as she did before she ever drank from him and him from her. His demon blood must be really diluted now from having so much of her. She kisses Sam on the cheek.

Sam says, “How about some breakfast Hon? I’m starving for some pancakes.”

Jessica says, “Sure Samuel. Let’s get dressed and walk to the diner. I love walking with you.”
