PS: I Love You

January 7th 2008 05:46
This is a dramatic movie, reminding one of the Japanese movie Love Letter. When Love meets Death, that is the eternity and paradise for Love. Love is pure and everlasting in Death and only in Death. Tears mashed with laughters, I guess the secret recipe of the success of this movie is the excellence of the original novel. The subtleness, gentleness and humour all intergrate into a feast of memory.

The Golden Compass

January 7th 2008 05:38
With hope and anxiety, I went into the cinema and saw the premier of The Golden Compass. However, I left the cinema with a sense of disappointment. May it be the simple repitition of plots, or the boring ending of indication to the next season. I appreciate the acting talent of the girl, and insist that is the only spotlight of this movie!

Elizabeth: the Golden Age

December 10th 2007 04:55
After the tough final exam, grab a chance to slip into the greater union and enjoy a movie about the British Virgin Queen: mother of all British people.
The rhythm of the whole movie is appropriate: tense when darkness approaching and subtle when female softness reflecting. My favourite scene is when Elizabeth standing herself with light robe at the cliff gap, facing enormous ocean and topping glimpse of setting sunshine: she is an angel with invisible wings! The strength and courage she injects into herself and us are terrific!!

Historic and autobiographic movies are many, but this one explores a Queen's humanity and female weakness in its subtle and strong way.

Long time no see

October 12th 2007 07:04
All dear friends,
Long time no see! During this month, I watched severl different movies: Rwanda Hotel, Seven Years in Tibet, The Departed, etc. There are different types but I like all of them!
Rwanda Hotel: remind me of Schindler's List I watched many years ago. I always love this kind of movies, full of humanity and sensitivity, probable because I always believe there is a hope. Human beings can be cruel, and we may be the most ruthless animals on the earth. Even within a community, two parties can fight and kill each other without hesitation. However, human beings can be selfless, and we may be the most contributing species in the world. Thus, in the case of emergency, there is always a hope and a man standing there to save us as a hero.

Frida's notebook: Talk to her

August 26th 2007 06:56
There is a reason why people compare love to seasons.

Frida
flow of characteristics
Frida: Her life began at a splendid and flowery spring, when shooting of love and sour of happiness turned into a forest of bewildering thorns, she experienced cruelness and gloriousness of autumn. The director uses the unique female senstivity and surrealist angle of camera, painting a strong and heavy picture for the audience-- which is so cool, exactly and appropriately reflecting the tender of a sensitive heart, the talent of a great painter, and the complex of a love. When Frida traveled through the forest, stepping and looking at the gate of heaven, her love grows and sleeps in winter forever.

Hot Fuzz

Hot Fuzz
Cost of Truth
Hot Fuzz is definitely an innovative movie in the cops movie field, a modern interpretation of the classical Chinese poem Pinch Blossoms[/.
From the first sight of it, people may immediately expect that something terrible would happen later. A peaceful mark of the town, faked friendly faces of people, and seemed harmless gossips flowing from one person to another--all of these knitted a delicate network of human relationships.
But the question is: what if all these are not true?

Pan's Labyrinth

August 5th 2007 06:47
Pan's Labyrinth--Life is a cruel fairy tale.
It gave audience a mark as The Chronicles of Narnia at first sight. Then when you track the traces of blood into its deeper darkness, it reminds you of the Spirited Away all at a sudden. However, after you hold your breath till the last tone of its siren's song, you then realize that it is not a fairy tale thing, it is neither a life stuff. It is a cruel fairy tale of Life.

TRANSFORMERS

July 28th 2007 04:41
Tuesdays are good days, all the movies cost half less at cinemas in Sydney on Tuesdays. I love good bargains and I choose my Tuesdays as Movie Day.
Last Tuesday, my friend and I surfed on the falling tide of Transformers at the end of a day--finishing the movie at 11:13 pm. When I went out of the cinema, watching the crowded diluted with my sleepy eyes, breathing the chilly winter night wind with my frozen red nose, suddenly Imy heart was stirred up by a bulletshooting car! Transformer--that's the first word jumped into my head as my friend crying out excitedly" Isn't it like a transformer?!" Yeah, that's the complication we got after we saw a really cool movie.

The Devil Wears Prada

July 24th 2007 08:35
It's an encouraging movie! one of my friends told me. As soon as I heard this comment, I decided to see it without hesitation. Deal
Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway: two big names crashed and created sparks. I love Meryl's movies, always. She is sensitive, genious, self-obsessed. When she is acting, in my eyes, she is living the role's life. Miranda (Meryl Streep), the supreme editor who believes she is in charge of everything, has her own tragedy. When I saw her glistening hair uncombed, her watery swollen eyes reflecting a flash of tired sadness, I read her mind: it's her life.
Brilliant, yes; Lonely, true.

River ¬¬~~~Root of Life

July 20th 2007 07:15
A River Runs Through It--Flyfishing
“Eventually, all things merge into one … and a river runs through it. The river was cut by the world’s great flood and runs over rocks from the basement of time. On some of the rocks are timeless raindrops. Under the rocks are the words … and some of the words are theirs. I am haunted by waters.”

Hi John Doe,

It seems to me that you are really enthusiastic about the Australian movies. Actually, my first time went to a cinema to see a movie in Sydney was an original Australian movie about an Australian guy who works as a toliet cleaner and his funny& real daily life story. I like it very much!! It gave me a genuine taste of the Australian style~~
