Shock Alert! Taylor Swift and Joe Jonas broke up. Somewhere, there is a thirteen year old cry and somewhere else, three million others are giving each other a celebratory high five. And I thought it would last forever. Tear. Those crazy kids.
Jessica Simpson is trying to prove herself as a legitimate country artist, well, darling, this isn't the way to do it. Say it with me, "perpetuate a cliche".
Lord I hope you forgive me/For livin' my life this way/Yeah, tonight I ride the lightning/To my final restin' place - Eric Church
If you haven't picked up on it, I listen to my iPod in an ADD like fashion. When my library takes the form of shuffle, I love that I can go from Run DMC to Jamey Johnson within moments. Occasionally I get lucky and I rediscover a track that might have been lost in my scary labyrinth of music.
This afternoon in between classes I was taken aback by Eric Church's "Lightning." "Lighting" is both understated and complex, force feeding the listener a succinct image of a man walking to his death. With the image in my head for the rest of the afternoon, while slightly disturbing (an execution), I walked around astounded by how vivid that image became as the hours drew on.
It's now eight at night and while I have moved on, it still amazes me how lost one can become in a song...and how much I adore the shuffle function on my iPod.
Just A Little Lovin'
As I woke up at seven this morning for my first class, I climbed into my car, turned on the engine and was greeted by the voice of Shelby Lynne softly uttering the words (well, not her lyrics, but you get the gist) of the late great Dusty Springfield.
While my morning drives are normally reserved for lively and loud music to get my pumped for the monotony that is my average Wednesday, it was a pleasant change to sit back in the traffic, drink my coffee and take in a soft interpretation of such classics as How Can I Be Sure and The Look Of Love.
"Just A Little Lovin'" stands as one of my favorite arrivals of 2008 and while I will return to my morning ritual of Lady Antebellum and Corb Lund tomorrow, it was a pleasant alteration in my daily movements.
He's bringing sexyback...sorry, Texas back.
Anyone that can list Queen, Waylon Jennings and Sublime as their influences has the ability to catch my attention. An individual who has done this is Johnny Cooper of Wichita Falls, Texas. Cooper combines a mix of country, red dirt, acoustic and southern rock to produce a unique sound

Fun little story. Yesterday morning, my iTunes library got damaged, upon this realization, I then decided to manually move the music from my iPod back to my Macbook. Well, happy day! My empty iTunes library auto synced with my iPod, erasing close to 10,000 songs. After twenty four hours of rolling anxiety attacks, minor tears and a desire to physically attack my laptop, it occurred to me what a major frustration it was for me not to have that music with me every moment of every day. Yes, as a twenty one year old, I have a security blanket in the form of a music library.
In the last six hours, I've desperately been searching my house for the following in an effort to feel, well...safe again

Here we go folks. My track by track review of Kellie Pickler's sophomore album...aptly titled "Kellie Pickler". Let's go!
1. Don't You Know You're Beautiful: This can easily be characterized as Pickler's answer to Martina McBride's "This One's For The Girls". A fun little ditty about self assurance, abstinence and various other Disney-related subtexts. Well sung by Kellie, but for me, it doesn't match the tone of the rest of the album and while I'm sure we can all appreciate an uplifting message, I don't view it as the smartest choice for the lead single. Oh well, bygones

I have his "Trouble" record...I have definitely taken to it more in the past twelve months. Shelter is in my Top 25 most played. Great song.
