Scream Dream Explained

September 20th 2006 00:37
Hello fellow blog memebers and readers,

I think i may have found a connection between my scream/ghost dream and an activity I and a friend carried out some weeks back.

I live alone, in a really nice place with huge windows in the downstaris portions and no curtains, facing a backyeard which contains a lot of (big) plants.

We were a bit board. My friend had just finished doing a tarrot card reading, and after that we discussed variouse topics and than finally got onto the topic of ghosts and wigi board.

I have heard from a lot of friends that you really can talk to ghosts throught he wigi board and my friend had heard similar stuff as well. Although we do not firmly beleive in ghosts, we both think it is good to keep an open mind about these issues and that science can not explain all, plus the fact that so many people have actualy communicated with ghosts emaphised that this devise did work.

I did not have an actual wigi board so we made one by hand.

Now before i even say this, i know that the following relevation can be explained by a number of factors (for one thing, the fact that we actually expected to see ghosts and were using umabigiouse infomration to confirm our beleifs).....as soon we we put our fingers on the glass cup we were using and asked 'are there any ghosts out there', my housemates cat meowed.

The answer of course was 'yes'. Following this we aksed the ghost to spell out his/her name. Suprisingly the name spelt out was of my dog Casper who had passed away in 2005. Now i know that i could have been wanting to talk to him so therefore assumed it was him, but he spelt out his name along with part of our family name as well.

My friend did not even know my dogs name and we both had our eyes closed each time we went to spell out a word and would only opne them to see where the glass had landed....

After that we contacted a few more ghosts, mostly ghosts that had been dead for (or been ghosts) for over a 100 years. The ghosts we contacted were harmless and we confirmed with them that they were not ghosts who would not through things around the house. Lol, of course we beleived them when they told us they were harmless.

After totally freaking ourselves out, we decided to stop and that we should not mess around with these things.

Of course the following day in broad daylight it all seemed halirouse. We decided we would continue with our pursuit and that we jsut needed to get a proper wigi board. Not knowing what kind of shops would sell them, we decided to visit Toyworld, figuring that they were the biggest carrieres of board games and such.

Needless to say, Toyworld did not sell any wigi boards. But we figured that ghosts would not mind too much that we were using a handmade board.

Onec the weekend was over and we were once agian busy with work and classes, we forgot all about ghosts.

Now, jsut in case i havn't mentioned this before, i am not usually afraid of dark areas and ghosts etc. I tend to just trust that ghosts will go about their own business and do not generally want to harm anybody.

Okay so about four days after the wigi board incident.....i think a ghost contacted me. See it gets quite chilly at nightime, so i had closed all the doors and windows. I had some residual stypmoms of the flue from last week so had a tissue box next to my laptop. The tissues kept rising up out of the tissue box and as this was distracting, i flattened them down.

Now as we all know, there is only a tiny slit through which we can pull out tissues. I remember very clearly flattning them down. After that i switched off my computer and went to rest on the couch.

In the morning, around 6am i went to switch n my computer. As my hand was reaching for the power switch i noticed that a tissue was standing up, ready for use, in the tissue box. Now remerbering that i had shut all the windows and doors and turned off the computer, and that i live alone, there is no logical explanation for the rise of the tissue. If it had just sort of risen a little bit, it could still be logically explained. But only an intentinal effort could have put the tissue in the position i found it in.

After this incident i felt quit uneasy about falling asleep at night. I would study all night until dawm and than go up to my room where the cat was already curled up on my bed. So obviously i as very tired alll the time, as i would sleep for about three hours and than go to classes and come back and stay up all night.

About three days after this, when i was at my parents farmhouse, i had the ghost/scream dream. At home i was not alone aso need not fear ghosts, plus the fact that i had done the ligi board at the other place, i figured ghosts didnt' usually follow you from house to house.

I guess when i had my screa dream i could have been having a nightmare, but becuase i was so exhuasted i just could not remember any trace of the dream.

I'm not sure how plusable an explanation this is? What does everyobody else think?

Connection between Ghost Dream & Coffee

September 18th 2006 07:53
Okay now if you read my 'The Other Side of Coffee/Caffeine post you will realise that coffee decreases REM sleep, thus decreases dreaming.

Now the fact that you cannot sleep walk while dreaming (in REM) sleep means that i was not likely to be dreaming.......so i could be sleep walking.......so what the hell was i doing screaming/sleep walking?

Can someone please help shed some ligh on this.... Very confusing and mind boggling... intersting yes....creepy yes as well....

The Other Side of Coffee/Cafeine

September 18th 2006 07:49
omg, look at this anti coffee site
http://www.teecino.com

Omg this site is so scary, it confirms all the negative effects of coffee.

It does result in agining - because your body is contantly in the flight or flee stage, constantly stressed out

Now this fact i found very true, see i can drink coffee and go stragiht to bed and sleep for eight hours straight without even so much as waking in the might. However, when i wake up, you would think that i'd be so engergetic and rested but i'm acutally not.

The reason for this is that caffine interferes with the fourth stage of the sleep cylce, and this is the stage when our body repiars itself, i'm not entilrey sure as yet, but it may also be the stge when u dream, the rapid eye movment (REM) stage - which would explian why i hardly ever dream as well.

Well for all of my fellow caffine addicts (heh, or "addicts") you simpley have to find a way that is maintanable, with willpower you can put up with the sever withdrawal stymptons but you are best off educating yourself about caffine and knowing as much as you possibly can learn so that your defences are always up.l

I quite coffee about five months back, went from ten cups (okay, five cups, heh) to zero, man was that painful, for two whole days i was in bed with severe headaches but once that stage was over i felt totaly differnt. I maintaned my caffine free lifestyle for maybe one month at most, the problem was not that i needed caffine so badly, i had simply not found a subsitute.

Well...i think the reason was that i had not explored all the issues around why i drink coffee, a campign to quite caffine is much like a camaign to lose weight - you need to address the psycholigcal issues first.

Why people might drink coffee:

-to elevate boredom (hah, you can't be bored when your body thinks thers some war going on)

I can't think of any more reasons at the moment, maybe because of all the caffine - it can reduce up to thirty percent of our memory and rentention.

Now this site i'm reading is talking about a coffee alternative.

But i say that you need to get to the root of the problem, finidng an alternative is just lik trading in one walking stick for another, in the end your still depdenant.

An alternative is probably most useful when your facing a mjaor health problem, but if your trying to quit caffine for long term health benefits than you need a long term plan.

Well thats all my thoughts for now. Please feel free to comment (mmm, so far besdies Kathrin and Jasdeep (aka - superman) no one has commented.

Anyway, i'm off to brew another cuppa (kidding).

Steve Irwin

September 15th 2006 05:38
I was not Steve Irwins biggest fan - in fact i hate crocdiles and other creepy crawlies. I was not a regular viewer of his shows, but i just wanted to say a few things...

1 - i think Steve was Australias identity. Although he may have increased the sterotypical image of aussies as 'dudes with big hair and lots of slang', he was passionate about his job, passionate about the australian wildlife and passionate about the australian culture
