Joseph Flees With Mary

February 19th 2012 14:24
Mary looked out her window. It was a wonderful night and she felt good. She felt like a princess. She smiled to the roof as she thought about what she was told. She was going to marry a fellow. It had been arranged. His named was Joseph. All she had to do was marry him and then she would live in a fine house forever. She smiled. She felt so lucky. She was going to marry a person of rapport. She was going to marry a nobleman.

A shuffling broke her attention! Mary looked to the door and she heard shuffling. Then the door opened. Mary gasped as she glared from her bed. In trod a male who was tall and dirty. His robed was filthy and he had sand all over him. Mary gasped as she saw the gross figure. She wondered who on earth had let in the mad-man!

The person dropped to his knee. Mary glared.

“My lady;” he muttered. “I am Joseph come to take you;” he said.

Mary gasped! He spoke like a traveller with a mixed tongue. She glared as she thought he couldn't possibly be the one for her. He spoke bad English! He didn't speak with the royal tongue! He spoke like a fairy! He looked too white and brown! He was all wrong.

“Oh my god!” she gasped before Joseph stood and moved to the bed. “Get away from me!” she screamed.

However Joseph pulled her out of the bed, and then he wrapped her up in a blanket. Mary gasped as she was ushered out of the room, and out of the building. They were on the run, and Joseph took her to a donkey, and pushed her onto it.

“This has been done without my parent's permission?” Mary asked as she shivered inside of her blanket.

“No! Just quicker then your parents supposed!” told Joseph as he grimaced and then shoved the donkey on.

“Why?” asked Mary as she looked to Joseph. “I have nothing;” she muttered as she thought about all of her fine belongings.

“You and you, and I have everything;” told Joseph before he led the donkey.

“Oh;” muttered Mary as she narrowed her eyes.

Something inside of her wanted to smile. However she wasn't sure if she should smile. Joseph was so strange. She could hardly believe she had been given to him. He was to be her forever, and she couldn't understand why.
