We've done Film and Gaming so far -- the next big push is for Music Bloggers.

Well not really a convention, more of a get-together!

Many of your favourite Sydney Orblers will be meeting on Sunday the 15th of June at the Dolphin Hotel in Surry Hills from 3pm.

It's always lots of fun. Seeing Bryn and John Doe talk about films is truly a wonder of verbal dexterity!

New 1000px wide format

Many websites are now moving to a 1000px wide format as most people have monitors wide enough to accommodate them.

So I've introduced a 1000px double column format for the Orble blogs.

You can see an example on this ZCars post.

This format will also load more quickly in Internet Explorer because I've redone some of the HTML code to cater to brain-dead microsoft programmers. It's still in beta, however if no bugs appear in the near future I will make it the default for new Orble blogs and create equivalent wide versions of the other formats.

To choose this shiny new format go to your blog's Modify page and under the Format section choose the Ads in Text - Wide Double Col Blog format.

If you do notice any bugs please let me know.

Family Friendly Setting

There is a new setting with which you can specify if a post is "family friendly" or not on the post creation and editing pages. As a guideline, if you would not like the post to be shown to your 7 year old nephew, please specify it as not family friendly.

Ads will still be shown on non-family-friendly posts as usual and they will appear on the Orble home page. The only difference is that they will not be listed in the popular Orble posts section in the menus of blogs which specify that they do not wish them to be displayed

Menu Thumb Images

You will have probably noticed the new post thumb images in the menu columns of each blog. If you don't want these thumb images to be displayed you can now remove them.

Go to the "Settings" page for your blog and at the bottom select "No" for "Show Post Thumb Images In Menus". Click on "Change Settings" and the thumb images will bot be displayed

You should get a stats email every day for each blog. If you are not receiving them then add admin@orblemail.com to your address (or contacts) book.

The number of votes represents the number of people who have commented on or voted for a post. Some people's votes count for more depending on your Orble Karma.
