I read this in the paper today and was heartsick. I cannot believe that a lawyer from a church of any faith could have the right to argue in court over something like this. If abortion is illegal in a country - as it is in Brazil - it should be up to a doctor and a judge to decide. What kind of monsters would expect a tiny little child to risk death to carry to term even one baby let alone two? How on earth could anyone say the unborn babies had more rights than the poor little live baby (which she pretty much is) and put her life at risk. This is not a religious decision, it is a medical decision.

I hope the stepfather's genitalia rots off and I certainly hope he is jailed and subjected to the horrors that he has put this poor little girl through. I can't even imagine the physical damage that would have been caused to her by being penetrated by an adult male let alone her poor little body trying to grow these babies inside of her.

I think this poor little girl has been victim enough. I hope she can heal her ravaged body and what must be a very tormented psyche.

If you do not agree with the decision to put the 9 year old victim first in all of this then I say, "where is your compassion?".

A NINE-YEAR-OLD girl who was carrying twins, allegedly after being raped by her stepfather, underwent an abortion today despite complaints from Brazil's Roman Catholic church.

Police said the stepfather has been jailed since last week, the Associated Press (AP) reported.

Abortion is illegal in Brazil, but judges can make exceptions if the mother's life is in danger or the fetus has no chance of survival.

Fatima Maia, director of the public university hospital where the abortion was performed, said the 15-week-old pregnancy posed a serious risk to the 36-kilogram girl, AP reported.

"She is very small. Her uterus doesn't have the ability to hold one, let alone two children," Ms Maia told the Jornal do Brasil newspaper.

But Marcio Miranda, a lawyer for the Archdiocese of Olinda and Recife in northeastern Brazil, said the girl should have carried the twins to term and had a cesarean section, AP reported.

Fast food really is bad for you!

September 22nd 2008 10:11
It seems cholesterol isn't your only worry if you eat junk food.

A Melbourne man was stabbed three times following an argument over his position in the queue at a McDonald's fast food outlet last night.

The man had been in an argument with two men inside the Flinders Street store and after being served they followed him outside and attacked him.

The man was treated by paramedics before he was taken to The Alfred hospital with stab wounds to the shoulder and chest.

And not to be outdone, in Sydney, a man has been stabbed to death and another hit in the face with a hammer at a Newtown pizza restaurant.

Police were called to Lucky's Pizzeria on King Street just before 1am after reports a 61-year-old man had been stabbed in the stomach and a 59-year-old man had been hit in the head with a hammer.

Police arrived to find the 61-year-old dead in the restaurant kitchen at the rear of the building.

The 59-year-old man was also in the restaurant suffering facial injuries. He was arrested and taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital where he remains under police guard pending further investigation.

Think I'll stick with my tofu.

Rocket man

May 15th 2008 07:45
He calls himself Fusionman.

Swiss adventurer Yves Rossy, a 48-year-old former air force pilot, leapt into the skies 2500 metres above the small town of Bex in western Switzerland clad in his new carbon "wing". He performed various manoeuvres for five minutes before landing with a parachute.

The wing is 2.5 metres across and has four tiny jets, which are lit inside the plane just before he jumps.

Rossy can reach speeds of up to 300kmh, but he can only stay in the air for a maximum of ten minutes due to the small fuel capacity.

James Bond eat your heart out. Now where can I get one?!

Another pointless inquiry?

April 3rd 2008 11:41
According to the newspaper the ACCC (Australian Competition and Consumer Commission) is investigating grocery prices and competitiveness in the industry. The chairman, Graeme Samuel said that contradictory claims from the different parties was “fascinating”. Another word for bullshit?

The inquiry is to get to the bottom of why farmers are getting so little when everyone is forking out so much at the cash register. "We have parties who will privately tell us they are doing extremely well and making very good profit margins, and then in the public arena say that they are suffering," Mr Samuel has quoted. "There's either an inconvenient truth being told publicly or an inconvenient truth being told to us - or an untruth, as the case may be

Ruby, I don't participate on Orble anymore and was only just told of your loss. I always enjoyed reading your posts but this brought me to tears.

I can't imagine your grief but your tribute is lovely and it's the perfect song. My sympathy to you and your family.

Actually Lady Muddling, I'm a woman who doesn't even know Morgan Bell but you are obviously a foul mouthed pig.

Everywhere readers go if Morgan Bell has commented on a post you seem to pop up with some derogatory and generally obscene comment. Perhaps you are the virtual male obsessed with Morgan because it sure looks that way to the casual observer as you seem to follow her everywhere.

Maybe you're the one who needs to get a life.

That was hilarious. Maybe you could put notes on the fridge but then you would have to paint arrows all over your house so you could find the kitchen!

on When to Tell Him 'I Love You'

I think there is never a right or wrong time to say those words to a guy. Just make sure when you say it, you really mean it and it is not just still in the infatuation stage. It will either work for you or against you but if they don't feel the same way it's probably best to know. Most guys will either say they love you too, they don't feel quite that way - yet, or they don't feel it at all. at least you'll know where you stand.

Lady Henrietta, do you think it might be possible for you to refrain in using such filthy language on someone else's page? What you write on your own is your own business, we can choose to read it or not but it is the height of rudeness to expect others to have to be confronted by your unwarranted language on another's blog.

Also, even though Teresa and I do not see eye to eye, she seems to have a problem with my Asian heritage. I'm not so sure she would want you spouting about your sex life with her on a blogging site.

You truly are crass.

I don't think anyone really cares what you and Morgan Bell think of each other. Just show some manners to Janet.

I love teasing my friend Cheryl with the the (no such) word 'irregardless'. I think it's funny but she goes totally mental. I think I can say it is on her top ten most hated!

Personally, I hate the loose/ lose error. What a bunch of loosers. lol

People, especially teenagers can be awfully naive with the stuff they put on networking sites. My Facebook profile has barely any identifying info in it. No photos, no birth date, just my name. If I had a friend that wanted money, I would expect them to call. You would have to be pretty silly to hand over cash to someone who requests it on facebook!
