Beginning Guitars

Hello,
One of the most important steps in beginning any instrument is the aquisition of the proper
beginning instrument. With guitars, it is no different, a proper instrument can make or break a budding guitar-playing life.
Two introductory full size guitars I'd like to recommend are the Takamine G406S New Yorker Acoustic Guitar and the Yamaha FG730S Solid Top Acoustic Guitar. Of the two, I prefer the Yamaha far and away, as it is a guitar that as far as I'm concerned rivals the playability of lower end Martin guitars. That is not a bad guitar to start out with, and with a pricetag of around $300, as opposed to the $1000 of a similiar Marting, it is really hard to beat! My wife got her Yamaha as a teenager, and that guitar still plays wonderfully!
Hope this helps,
jeff
