Beginning Guitars

May 9th 2009 20:48
Hello,

One of the most important steps in beginning any instrument is the aquisition of the proper
beginning instrument. With guitars, it is no different, a proper instrument can make or break a budding guitar-playing life.

Two introductory full size guitars I'd like to recommend are the Takamine G406S New Yorker Acoustic Guitar and the Yamaha FG730S Solid Top Acoustic Guitar. Of the two, I prefer the Yamaha far and away, as it is a guitar that as far as I'm concerned rivals the playability of lower end Martin guitars. That is not a bad guitar to start out with, and with a pricetag of around $300, as opposed to the $1000 of a similiar Marting, it is really hard to beat! My wife got her Yamaha as a teenager, and that guitar still plays wonderfully!

Hope this helps,

Guitar Processors

May 1st 2009 22:15
Hello,

Guitar processors are an important part of playing guitar, after all, the sounds are very important to the overall output. Play the same appeggio with a clean sound, a sound with a little dirt, then heavy dirt and they will all sound radically different, even though it is the same exact notes.

The brand of processor I have been using for years and have been very happy with is Digitech. I have really been pleased with the variety of sounds and the huge amount of personality I can input into the processor.

The Digitech processor that I am currently using contains both solid state and tube-driven sounds. I like that combination, because some blues and classic rock licks only sound right with genuine tube-driven overdrive.

Taylor 814ce

April 23rd 2009 22:45
Hello,

I just want to brag on my Taylor 814ce. I have played many acoustic guitars over the years,
but I have to this day never played anything made by anyone that can compare to the beauty and grace of the Taylor 814ce.

The touch and sensitivity of this guitar allows an amazing freedom in playing, amazing control over dynamics, and is limitless as to style of play, from gentle fingerpicking to aggressive, the Taylor 814ce does it all with class.

If you are considering a higher-end acoustic, you need to make sure you take a long hard look at the Taylor 814ce.

The New Wood & Steel Magazine

I got the new Taylor guitar owner magazine "Wood and Steel" the other day, but I just
opened it today and read the letters in, and one of them was speaking of the new
Taylor electric guitars. From the sounds of it, they must be pretty hot. There was also an

The Aptera 2e looks nice, the other has a lot to be desired I think.
I don't know why an E-Car has to be an ugly car...
Good looks will help propel these cars to where they belong...in the forefront of personal transportation.

That Aptera 2e looks pretty cool. The best looking E-Car I've seen though still remains the Tesla Roadster, now THAT is a cool car!
