Perhaps now we can talk sanely about health care reform. It's time to admit that forcing the current house measure of health care 'Reform' on us is ridiculous at best. The solution is much easier that they want to admit. Just allow people to but insurance across state lines and make those payments tax deductible. For example, the minimum insurance requirement in NJ is more than the lease payments on a ferrari. The average medical plan in New Jersey costs $37,164 per year. The monthly premiums exceed the lease for a Ferrari!
By comparison, Indiana has far fewer corporate welfare mandates dictating what health insurance must cover. People in that state can choose between 43 plans costing less than $5,400 annually!
If the New Jersey family could buy medical insurance from an Indiana provider, they'd save over $31,000 a year!
Extend this to the entire country and the results would be dramatic.
One study indicates that this simple reform would make medical insurance instantly affordable for 12 million uninsured Americans! You can check it out here: Really Long Link
But I think the results would be even better. Once Americans have freedom of choice again . . .
* State legislatures will start competing to repeal their corporate welfare mandates
* And insurance companies will compete to provide better coverage at lower prices
All American should have free market choices in health insurance! No American should have to pay corporate welfare benefits through their insurance premiums, or have to go without insurance. You can make this possible. DO IT!
Oppose the cancerous healthcare bill being pushed in the House and Senate. Oppose complicated insurance buying pools. Instead, please just fix the problems politicians created!
This issue is important to me, and I want to be represented by someone who shares my appreciation of market solutions instead of political solutions.
Everyone should contact their representatives today and tell them this!
The latest end of year spending bill is being forced through, like everything else lately, by senate Democrats. How sad that a bill that is over 1000 pages long and contains over 5000 at home projects for each of the 60 senators that voted in favor of it to a tune of $3.9 BILLION dollars is being rushed through. More bribery by another name. It includes 10 percent INCREASES to most programs controlled by congress, as well as pay increases and more 'help' for a particular industry, the car dealers.
How much longer are we going to stand for this fiscal irresponsibility?
How can they possibly justify this spending bill?
They are going to bankrupt the government unless we tell them to stop. Plus they are going to kill our economy! Why do you think the dollar is plunging and the trade deficit is decreasing? Because the rest of the world and the marketplace know that this cannot continue. The Federal Reserve is printing more money than ever to keep pace with the government's crazy spending. Eventually our dollars will be worth nothing. And I bet you they won't be standing on the white house steps to take credit for that. You must let them know that this is not acceptable. Contact your representatives today. Please.
In the legislative branch of the US Government, they call it logrolling. But in reality, when all is said and done, it is bribery. They use our hard earned money taken at gunpoint from us to bribe other representatives to vote in favor of bad ideas. It costs the American people billions of dollars a year that we could be keeping in our pockets and using to stimulate the economy.
Just wait until the health care bill is finalized. It is already packed full of pork to get the votes for cloture, and everyone who didn't get anything yet is balking at the bill now in order to get some pork for themselves. The Baucus bill has the federal government paying the entire cost for the mandated Medicaid expansion in the following states: Nevada, Oregon, Rhode Island and Michigan. And let's not forget the 100 MILLION dollars for Louisiana's Medicaid system. This is an attempt to bribe or reward the Senators and Representatives from those states using my tax money.
Other states aren't getting this sweet deal. Citizens in the other 46 states will have to pay higher State taxes to fund this scheme. Frankly, I think any Congressional leader who offers a tax-funded benefit for a state or district in order to secure a vote, and any member of Congress who negotiates to gain such a benefit, should be brought up on charges and go to jail for violating the anti-bribery law.
The laws are supposed to treat all of us equally. Any law that treats citizens of some states differently is inherently unjust, and any law passed using tax-funded bribery is inherently unethical. I believe the so called health care bill is both things, unjust and unethical. Any of you who still think that this bill is going solve ANY problems with the health care system are fooling yourselves. It is yet another case of egotistical politicians telling bald faced lies to try and convince us that they can solve the problem with more government CONTROL over our lives. Don't drink the Kool-aid. Less government is the only way to solve the health care problem.
Those of you who have seen 2012 will be sadly disappointed. The End that is coming is to the current economic system. Fiat currency is going to fail, and soon, with the US Dollar leading the way. The back breaker for the US dollar is going to be this horrific Health Care bill the Democrats are about to ram down everyone's throat. Every Democrat that opposed it got a little something added onto the bill to entice them to change their vote. What's really funny is that no one has read the whole thing, yet they are voting on it tonight. This half-baked, poorly thought out solution is yet another example of why the government should let the marketplace dictate solutions, instead of more regulation by the government. Between this bill, the 150 bank failures just this year, and the Federal Reserve's constant printing of money, the dollar will fail within the next 18 months. Hope you're buying lots of silver and gold, brothers and sisters, because times they are a changing. The only good thing to come out of this will be a return to more closely following the Constitution, and letting the world do what they want, instead of what the US government wants them to do. I just hope too many people don't suffer during the transition when it comes. Enjoy your health care, while it lasts...
President Bush and the Republican Congress expanded government more than any administration in history. They also laid the basic foundations for a future police state. Now, President Obama and the Democratic Congress have . . .
* Retained, and in some cases expanded, all the Bush-era policies -- the wars, the PATRIOT Act, warrantless spying, REAL ID, imprisonment without due process, extraordinary rendition, etc

Does anyone really believe that Sen Baucus Health Care plan is going to REDUCE the deficit? If you do, then I have some land I would like to sell you that's going to be worth a fortune someday!
When has the Federal government EVER done anything more effectively than the private sector? I know of no instances where it has happened. Government programs are ALWAYS full of fraud and cost overruns. ALWAYS! It's interesting to read the headlines about these bills. They are fraught with words like 'rushing' and 'hurrying' and 'quickly'. Why would any of these words be applicable to a bill that is THOUSANDS of pages long and quite the most complex piece of legislation every attempted? Legislation like this is going to be a train wreck if only because of the rush to get something in place, as opposed to taking a few years to develop it and think it through.
If the Congress somehow gets something passed, it will be a very dark legacy they leave behind them. First, the legislation is unconstitutional because it REQUIRES BY LAW that everyone carry health insurance. Where's the freedom? What if my religion prohibits me from seeking medical treatment? The government would be REQUIRING me to go against my religious beliefs, which in this case are not all that unreasonable

Most people accept the Federal Reserve - the manager of the nation's money stock -- as an indispensable institution that the United States cannot function without. However, I can assure you that it is irresponsible, ineffective and ultimately useless. If you want to know what the Fed is and what it does, I recommend attending some economics lectures at your local college, or try reading Ron Paul's new book, 'End the Fed'. Either one will leave you chilled to the bone when you realize that the Fed is actually the cause of most of our economic downturns.
The number one reason it causes economic downturns is due to it's one unique power - the ability to create paper money out of thin air. Considering that one half of every commercial transaction is money and that entire cultures rise and fall based on the quality of their money, this is an awesome power, and one that most of you do not realize or normally think about.
The recent economic crisis and bailout are a perfect example. All the bailout did was reward companies that made bad business decisions. The crisis would have been over quickly and the market would have adjusted itself and things would have been fine. Instead, the Fed felt it necessary to bailout it's good buddies in the market with some of our tax dollars. And they did it by creating money out of thin air. Here are the numbers(in the BILLIONS!) supplied by the Fed showing the massive increase in the money supply

In case you didn't notice, the President and Congress are starting to listen to us. The President changed his fraudulent number of 47-50 million uninsured Americans to 30 million. It's still a fraudulent number, but it shows he is starting to listen. He also offered to drop the public option, which would eventually result in government control of our health care. It just shows, pressure works.
And we need to keep that pressure up. We need to tell them a few more things that need to be fixed. Tell the politicians that the 30-million number is also inflated, because many of the people in that group can afford health insurance, they just don't want to pay for it. And frankly, who can blame them given that the prices are inflated by government mandates. Health insurance in many places is simply a bad deal.
Tell the politicians that almost everyone could afford health insurance if only the federal government would allow individuals and employers to buy health insurance across state lines, thereby avoiding state mandates that make insurance too expensive.Let them know that we know that government insurance co-ops will eventually lead to the same result as the so-called "public option." No government insurance co-ops

Robert Kahre is facing up to 296 years in prison. His crime? He hired workers on mutually-agreed terms, and paid them in gold and silver dollars rather than in Federal Reserve dollars.
First, some background

First, I want to state that I am a Libertarian. I was just as vocal when the Bush Administration was in power as I am now. I just didn't have this blog. So when you post your comments, don't make the ASSUMPTION that I was in favor of most anything done by the previous administration either. I am just sick and tired of being lied to! Obama is no different from Bush in that regard. He promised us more accountability and transparency in the government, and proceeds to do everything behind closed doors! Now for today's blog.
One of the things we are hearing about right now is the 'Public Option'. It sounds good, but then the politicians are great at giving bad ideas good names. It's really a Trojan Horse that will lead to socialized medicine. The "public option" is tax-subsidized government insurance that would charge lower premiums than private companies could afford to match -- that's the whole point of the tax subsidy. This would eventually drive private health insurance out of business, leaving us with a "single payer" government system. The so-called "single payer" would really be ALL taxpayers, because taxes would fund all health care. In other words, public-option equals single-payer equals socialism.
I also need to address the cost of this plan. The CBO (Congressional Budget Office) has estimated the cost of this program at 1.2 TRILLION dollars. But that's not the whole story. Their estimate is only for the period of time BEFORE full implementation of the plan. The actual cost will be at LEAST 50% higher than that! Plus this healthcare plan imposes many other hidden costs that are not reflected in the federal budget. This is one of the tricks Republican Governor Mitt Romney used to pass his train-wreck health care bill in Massachusetts, and now the Democrats in Congress are pursuing the same fraudulent course. The big health care bill imposes mandates on the states, on employers, and on individuals. These mandates will result in massive expenses, NONE of which are included in the CBO's estimate that the bill will cost taxpayers $1.2 trillion over 10 years. State governments will have to spend more on Medicaid, which you will pay through higher state taxes or increased debt. Many employers will have to buy health insurance for their workers, or pay a fine to the government. These increased costs to employers may result in lower wages or increased unemployment -- probably both. Individuals who don't currently have health insurance will have to buy such insurance, by law
