Jaguar familiars - Vampire Wars
March 11th 2010 23:58
Okay, don't know if my facts and maths are right, but here goes...
Black jaguar -- 40 favor points -- 5 attack, 5 defense, 3 rage (=16 skill points)
In comparison, buying 16 skill points from the Elders also costs 40 favor points (since each skill point is worth 2.5 favor points).
Snow jaguar -- 70 favor points -- 10 attack, 10 defense, 5 rage (=30 skill points)
Buying 30 skill points from the Elders costs 75 favor points.
Fire jaguar -- 100 favor points -- 15 attack, 15 defense, 10 rage (=50 skill points)
Buying 50 skill points from the Elders costs 125 favor points.
So, in total, by buying all three jaguars, you get an additional 30 attack, 30 defense, 18 rage, which is the equivalent of 96 skill points, and it costs you 210 favor points.
In comparison, buying 96 skill points from the Elders would normally cost 240 favor points.
If you spent those 30 favor points you save on skill points, that comes out to be equivalent to 12 skill points.
So, if you're into buying skills points, the jaguars are a good deal. (Not to mention, the avatar pic is shiny.)
By the way, you can also buy the familiars from the avatar shop. If you go to the shop and select "Try on", there's another button that allows you to buy the gift for a friend. Note: your friend, not you, gets the favor points.
If they already have a jaguar... hmm... since I haven't bought a fire jaguar myself, I'm not sure if it's possible to buy more than one of them. My guess is that you probably can, but you just get the stat-point increase, you don't get an extra cat for your avatar picture.
Love my little kitty.
Note: By now, you should know that when Zynga says "limited edition", "buy it now! hurry! last chance!", they're usually lying. If you can't afford the Jaguar this time around, just wait till next time. It could be 6 months, but I guarantee -- it'll be back.

But if you want to start a new baby vamp and try to get the favor points that way... Well... My guess is you'll need to get to around levels 45-50 to acquire the 210 favor points you need.
