Tuesday March, 21, 2006 what a long exhausting pretty fun day. I was up at 2:30am, got emails one last time and got ready to venture to Columbus to catch my plane by 8:30am. The drive took the full 3 hours I was told it would be. But at least it didn't take 6 hours like my Dad said it might. Sun Parking was easy to find. And they picked me up at my car and took me right to the airport.

Before presenting an award at the 79th annual Oscars on Feb. Wil Farrel and Jack Black sang a poor “us” song about the sad comedians at the Oscars who never win. That’s not exactly true.

It is true many comedians that are nominated like Eddie Murphy for “Dream girls” and Wil Smith for “The Pursuit of Happiness” are nominated for their more serious roles, but the comedy side of some of these roles help make the movie more enjoyable. Eddie Murphy’s Character in Dream girls talking about he was the first to wear Rhine stones and the first do things most people thought was Elvis was really fun. Especially when you think of music history and realize he was probably right.

Why is it a top news story that Brittany Spears shaved her head and got tattoos? I think she just needs attention from the public or maybe she is still trying to rebel against mommy. Yes, by writing this I am also giving her the attention she wants but you are reading it so we are all guilty.

Do you think this is a publicity stunt? Or is has Brittany just gone crazy?

Should snow forts be illegal?

February 15th 2007 04:33
Should snow forts be illegal? It might just come to that after a mother went on TV talking about "the dangers" of snow forts. It was on the news tonight. a seven-year-old and his parents were playing in the snow and made a snow fort. The little boy crawled through and the fort collapsed. The mother said, "He told me he thought he was going to die". The kid was in under the snow a minute or less.

In my opinion it just scared the little boy. But the over reaction could get out of hand as things seem to do in this day and age. I guess you have to keep kids from ever doing anything that could possibly scare them because it could be mentally detrimental. I think you have to live a bit...Children need to fall, get hurt physically and maybe their feelings might get hurt along the way. No one needs teased a lot, but what happens to us as children sometimes can help us be better adults.

J. J.'s Grammy wrap up

February 12th 2007 14:43
So society has reinstated the Dixie Chicks for standing up for themselves in song. At least their Children are safe now. No matter what you think about their thoughts on the President and War you have to agree threatening their families was wrong. But I still think Freedom of speech is important. They never physically or other wise threatened anyone.

Enough of that. I didn't catch the first hour of the show so if someone wants to fill me in on any great happenings I missed I'd love to hear all about it. I MISSED THE POLICE REUNION! UGH! I did catch a memorable performance of The Eagles songs Hotel California, Desperado and Life in the fast lane performed by Carrey Underwood and Rascal Flats. But know one can perform those songs like Don Henley and Glen Frey. They should have given Glen Frey any credit in the introduction since he was the one that wanted to band to turn more Southern Rock...

If you have not looked up from writing or reading blogs today let me be the first to tell you Anna Nicole Smith Died. It is all over the news and Internet already. But why? Because "we" feel bad for her? Because she had some emotional issues and drug addictions and some were disgusted by her marriage to a man extremely her senior? I do/ did always feel sorry for her a bit because of everything that seemed to surround her, but...

When James Brown died it was barely covered? Why? He help make music what it is today. He contributed his creative talents to the world. I know he had some addictions of his own. But the most I heard is one of his wives wanted the house and she was kicked out. Well, I guess they weren't officially married because he was still married to his first wife when he married the second. But stories/features on his contribution to music should have been on atleast as many broadcasts as Anna if not more. I think more...

Prince and his Phallic guitar

February 7th 2007 13:45
Prince has been criticized for his great half time performance at the super bowel. According to the article Prince's Half time Imagery Questioned By JAKE COYLE people have been blogging about how his guitar in the shadow looked liked phallic.

According to Coyle‘s article, “Daily News television critic David Bianculli called it "a rude-looking shadow show that looked embarrassingly rude, crude and unfortunately placed.””

Spun with Billy Corgan & More

February 5th 2007 17:34
Spun is your basic day in the life story following Ross (Jason Schwartzman). His day goes a bit longer than he expects. Hes up 3 to 5 days actually and ends up involved in the lives of Spider Monkey, the dealer (John Leguizamo), The Cook (Mickey Rourke), and The Cooks Girlfriend Nikki (Brittany Murphy). In the end they all sleep peacefully. But will they ever wake up?

Since I have heard about the past or alleged current drug use of the actors/musicians in Spun it could be part of their community service plea. A get out of jail free card.

NIN: Showing some Love

February 3rd 2007 00:43
Was that a fun concert or what? But why wasnt everybody standing to show their love and appreciation? Most people were and dancing, jumping, bouncing, clapping raising their fists in the air and having a great time. How do you not move at least a little to those beats, rhythms and the all over feel of NIN? Kudos to those that know how the enjoy a concert. I feel very sad for the rest.
I should go to Blossom more often in the summer and definitely get the Bleacher seats in the pavilion because I ended up with a much better seat. All you have to do is get in the pavilion to be able to move closer before the main act. They had big screens so everyone could see what NIN was doing on stage, but with all the white lights and smoke the screens were not as good as being able to see Trent and the boys jumping around and seeming to enjoy their selves as much as most of the audience.
Being as I followed Smashing Pumpkins around as many places as possible from their beginning to end this was my first NIN concert. (WARNING CHICK STUFF NEXT) WOW, Trent is hotter live! But he has always been in my top 5. I think he was even in the top 5 of musicians with the biggestThe singer for Type O Negative is #1. Tommy Lee is #2 or 3. I cant remember specifics because its been a few years since I read the article about that.

Sad Day Sanctuary (SDS) and Blush did a great job preparing the crowd at the Lime Spider for Dolly Trauma. SDS went on first with a set that seemed plagued by a heckler especially Brian who played on through the verbal abuse. The band was able to ignore the negative feed back and play out to the crowd that was enjoying their music.

Blush enticed the crowd next. With this group it seems to be a family affair. Blush is made up of two brothers on guitar/bass and their sister on vocals. Plus because their regular sound guy was out of town their other brother was working the sound board for them. They have a drummer thats not part of the family other than the band as a family. No heckling this band. They had a supportive crowd enjoying their sounds.
