Madagascar: Escape 2 AfricaDecember 18th 2008 00:59
Animated children’s films know no restraint when it comes to sequels. Why write a whole new script when you can just recycle the old one? Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa is the sequel to the successful 2005 original Madagascar. The film follows the adventures of Alex the Lion (Ben Stiller), Marty the Zebra (Chris Rock), Melman the Giraffe (David Schwimmer), and Gloria the Hippo (Jada Pinkett-Smith). The quartet of unlikely friends attempt to fly back to New York with the help of the militant penguins led by Mort (Andy Richter). King Julian the Lemur (Sacha Baron Cohen) and his right hand lemur Maurice (Cedric the Entertainer) invite themselves along for the ride. The plane crashes in Africa where they discover a utopian wildlife reserve ruled by Zuba the lion (the late Bernie Mac). Is their idyllic new home better than the concrete jungle from whence they came? The central theme of the movie asks the question; can the city cat survive in the wild? (Sound familiar?) The film gets its laughs from the bit characters from the first film; namely the penguins and King Julian who are all delightfully funny. However, the film falls flat with the main characters. The unrequited love of Melman for Gloria is distracting more than funny. How does a giraffe do the deed with the increasingly maternal Gloria? If you are looking for 90 minutes of visual valium to keep the kids occupied you’ve found your calmative; if you’re an adult I’m afraid you’ll just have to grin and bear it.

Izzy Real is here.March 14th 2008 02:34
Welcome Dear Readers.
You are probably wondering what this is about. Perhaps you need to know how to create chaos or who's Izzy Real. Well, the second one is easy. Izzy Real is a man. A man who is planning on committing a murder. He is a man who refers to himself in the third person. The practise of many a conceited, arrogant sociopath. How to create chaos is a much more difficult prospect. I cannot teach you how to to create chaos (sorry) but I am going to give a detailed account of my attempt to be an infamous fiend. Stalking, capturing and slaying unsuspecting prey. I look forward to letting you inside the world of chaos that I will attempt to create. Sincerely
