I keep telling people that there are going to be a lot fewer people on this planet by the time we hit the end of 2012. They all nod knowingly and go on about their business. then they're shocked when it happens to someone close to them.
It's hard, it's frustrating, grief sucks. But I really believe this to be true. There will be large disasters, small disasters, people who just go quickly and before their time. These are contracts that were made before they come into body in this lifetime.
You may be the next, or it may be your job to grieve and hold together what is left. We all have a role to play, whether we've seen a copy of the script or not. All you can do is trust your gut and not take life personally.
I miss my friends who are leaving now. I've lost quite a few over the last ten years, but I don't miss any of them less just because time has passed. They visit me in my dreams and I'm grateful for the contact. I'll never watch Jeopardy with Dino again, or call Bob for an explanation of some obscure baseball rule. Jeannine, you were a great teacher even when you weren't in your classroom.
Abraham, Albert, Maja, Solomon, Matthew, all the kind spirits who gather to support me, thank you for being here for me.
