Introduction to the Matrix
October 17th 2006 07:42
This blog is called "The Matrix" after the film of the same name. In that film, the protagonist Neo discovers that everything around him is an illusion, and that he is really a prisoner of a system that has enslaved his mind. So are we. It's not the Agents we have to fear, it's the lies that float along the breeze everywhere we go, that show up in unbelievably subtle ways to brainwash us and prevent us from seeing things as they really are. I am trying to machete my way through this jungle of falsehood, and I submit this blog as a sort of progress report.
Maybe someday I'll make it aboard the Nebuchadnezzar...

I once wrote a speech for my Rostrum Club. They gave me the topic of "Faith and Macrame". It was a doozy!. I talked about the life line between God and a child that was being born. God gently reminded Him that the lifeline was there to be kept intact as their connection. The child realised its father had been unfair in his treatment and a "voice" said to him that that should be recorded, and made a knot in his lifeline entrenching unforgiveness. Eventually the lifeline was so knotted up that the adult was choking, until he finally asked for Jesus' help. Jesus said "I've been waiting for you to ask", and began undoing the knots so he could breathe easy.. That is an fictional story of course, but it illustrates exactly what you are saying. The knots were the lies that form the matrix around us in society.
