Introduction Part 1

After my breakdown yesterday, I figure some light reading is in order. I'll tell you a little bit about me, and anyone is welcome to tell me a little bit about them.
I am 26 years old and living in the Dallas/Fort Worth TX area. I live here with my boyfriend whom I met online a little more than 7 years ago. We met on a message board for depressed/troubled young adults. He is 5 years older than me - sometimes this complicates things, but normally not so much. We have two cats, and no kids at this point.
My cats are Duster and Kasey. Duster is a male, gray and white run-of-the-mill cat. We got him from a humane society in May of '00. We were told that he was about 6 months old, however a vet placed him at 1 or 1.5 years old. In any case, he's around 8ish and a bit overweight. He's probably the most loving cat I've ever met, all he ever wants to do is lay in your lap, be pet, and lick the crap out of you. Kasey is the sweet little Calico in my user icon. We got her in September of '00 from the same humane society. She was scraggly, tiny, and scared to death - around 3 months old or so. So, she's about 7 years old. They are both fixed, Duster is front declawed (unfortunately) and Kasey's little paws are intact. I feed them Chicken Soup for the Pet Lovers Soul Adult Cat Food. Anything lower quality than that and they puke all the time, and higher quality they just don't seem to do well on. It's leaps above grocery store brands and the vet says as long as they're doing well, it's all good.
I am in school part time at a local community college. I've been taking classes there for 2 years, and I'm not quite a sophomore yet. This is very sad, but I know if I took more than 2 classes per semester that my grades and work would both suffer. I need the job so that I can afford to go to school, but I need to keep going to school so I can get out of my crappy retail job. I am very proud of my grades, though some people might not be. I've only gotten one C (history), and I got an A in Chemistry! Everything else is A's and B's.
I think I'm going to leave it at this for the moment. One parting thought: It is ashame that Pizza Hut pizza is so gross, I really love the breadsticks. (My order just came, breadsticks = yum, pizza = ugh)

I grew up in Las Vegas, but moved to Kentucky 3 years ago and absolutely adore it here. I'd love to introduce you to all the regularities of me, but there are none... everything's changing.
My first love is my children (the only unchanging factor of me, really), of whom there are 3.
My eldest, who I write of as Atlas because he showed me the world through new eyes, is eighteen, recently graduated high school, and continues to reside in Las Vegas.
My second born son is who I lovingly refer to as Rhythm because he always taps taps taps on anything and everything. He's fifteen, a national Tae Kwon Do Champion for his age and rank, and can spawn laughter in the face of any situation, no matter how frightening. He's got a wicked sense of humor.
My daughter, Stinkerbelle, is thirteen... a hellish age for a girl to be, and is completely and madly in love with horses. She'd been taking riding lessons weekly for a while, but she and her elder brother have both had to temporarily fofreit their classes in light of our current situation.
Current situation is divorce, but not an unpleasant one. Along with that comes my return to the work force after three years, and the kids' return to the public school system after several years of homeschooling.
At the moment, we have fourteen animals, but sadly, must reduce because there's no way I can support two kids and fourteen animals on my own! There are currently eight cats, all of whom will be leaving us soon... two are going with my ex-in-progress, and we're looking for loving homes for the rest. We have four dogs with whom we can't part.... Sirius is my guy and he's spoiled rotten and thinks he's my husband. Odin is Stinkerbelle's dog and guards her protectively. Honey belongs to Rhythm, and then there's Bella Beltane, who pretty much belongs to the whole family, but sleeps with Rhythm and Honey at night. Aside from the cats and dogs, there are two birds - parakeets - Ostara and Yule, but they will also be finding a new home soon. My heart hurts for having to part with them, but I know it's the right thing to do.
I'm a big fan of the faerie-folk, of all things enchanted, mysterious phenomena and paranormal activity, and I live my life by the motto, "Believe good things; what you believe becomes."
Love, love, love to bake and make new creations in the kitchen. We're vegetarians and a lot of what we consume I make from scratch, including all of our bread products, peanut butter, mayonaise, and whatever else I can conjur.
I'll be thirty-five next month (August), and am a Leo through and through. Love to explore dream meanings, the tarot, faerie oracles, horoscopes, and other correspondences, most of which I meditate on in a category I call "The Daily Dose" in my blog.
That's me in a nutshell... I'm sure there's much more, but something has to be left for discovery, right? *smiles*
