I thank Angela, a friend of mine, for emailing me these today. I have been so busy at the moment I have barely had to time to scratch myself let alone write some articles - this is a quick one b4 I head out. I hope you like them - I love this stuff!!!

In the 1400's a law was set forth in England that a man was allowed to beat his wife with a stick no thicker than his thumb. Hence we have 'the rule of thumb'

In Shakespeare's time, mattresses were secured on bed frames by ropes.

It was the accepted practice in Babylon 4,000 years ago that for a month after the wedding, the bride's father would supply his son-in-law with all the mead he could drink. Mead is a honey beer and because their calendar was lunar based, this period was called the honey month, which we know today as the honeymoon.

i wonder why all the boat owners like the name "Obsession"? weird . . .

Because it is probably the only "other" obsession they can get away with and as all boats are supposedly women they can be very attentive!

Jason, I'm off to have the copper and zinc test and look where that man and woman in bed led to - children! as bad as Adam and Eve, and Fred can't even blame the snake.

And who the hell would want to lick their elbow, I ask you.
