Infinite Realities vi - The Environment Basis of Infinite
November 19th 2007 10:22
After we acknowledge the unpreparedness of human life to deal with concepts that do not relate immediately to the partial and limited world we inhabit, we might be lead to think that thinking of the infinite is above us.
I’m convinced that this is wrong. I believe we can think and talk of the infinite. The evidence is that we are exploring and debating it. If we couldn’t think the infinite, then how come we talk about it? Somewhere in our gut we know this thing infinite.
I believe that we are the product of our environment and I think that whatever goes in our thinking, somewhere, goes on in our environment. This way we are prepared to understand our circumstances and survive.
I therefore see in our instinctive recognition of the infinite a proof of its existence. Whatever goes on in our mind, goes on somewhere in the Universe. Consequently, if we can conceive infiniteness in our minds, then it must be out there somewhere. We, then, just have to capture it.
