Infinite Realities v - Infinite Observations
November 19th 2007 10:20
If you travel in a straight line through the Universe you can make observations of it. Every time you travel for x miles you can make one observation, then another. After a while you will have known a bit about it.
The Universe could be measured in meters or even better in years-light, but an x number of observations could also be used to give its grandeur.
The problem with observations, though, is that, rather than giving a measure of what’s outside to be observed, they give an image of what’s going inside the observer’s mind. In fact, an observation is something that exists only in the observer’s mind.
A subjective yardstick is not eligible here – we want to measure what is out there with something that belongs there also.
On the other hand, by their very nature, observations on a particular section of the Universe could be endless and varied in angle. If we can cram an infinite number of observations in it, then, I guess, we are not going to know its precise measurement.
