what can i say.... how I started being frugal

Yes, I'm frugal. Or call it cheap! But in today's economy, is it also called smart?

love it!
I think I was a bargain hunter from the day I was born. I was looking for pennies on the sidewalk or any way to earn one. Lemonade? Odds and Ends? I tried selling my toys and treats, yes I did. Early on I couldn't resist trying to win something at the State Fair. Too bad I didn't understand the odds. But I actually beat those odds a little later in life.
When I met my soon to be husband, his mother introduced me to thrift stores. I honestly didn't know "anyone" could shop there. “Anyone” meaning us middle class folks who don't usually need a little help. I've hardly spent a dime at the mall since. Yep… my kind of heaven. Almost as good as winning a sweepstakes. Yes, I've done that too. But, back to thrift store! I've given away nearly new stuff too, what a treat to buy the same from someone else <g>
So I'm frugal and proud of it. I'm blessed that it's not always from necessity. Maybe, over the years, the accumulated savings are why it's not a necessity.
I bargain hunt for nearly everything now. I'll tell you what I've learned if you care to listen.
