If its not yours, don't touch it!

We all know that most musicians are very particular with their instruments. Its a very common thing for a musician to consider it an insult if someone picks up their instrument without permission. Even sometimes with permission, it can still be very hard for a musician to let someone else handle their pride and joy.
Whether it be a guitar or drums or anything else, you can never fully trust that another person will treat the instrument with as much care as you do. Even if they know what they are doing and are skilled players, accidents still happen.
I have recently discovered a new and ultimate reason why you shouldn't play with someone else's instrument.
DEAD SKIN
In particular, guitars and bass guitars are the worst about. The strings that a musician plays, have a tendency to peel off layers and layers of dead skin in tiny unnoticable little amounts. If the instrument is played often, a thick layer of dead skin particles will be noticed.
Most people just assume it is dust, dirt or lint, but its not. Its dead skin! Which is totally gross, and the whole point of this blurb.
Its the same sort of thing that happens to our beds, and the same stuff that floats around our houses invisibly. In fact, it has been proven that 80% of 'dust' in a house is really not dust, its dead skin.
So! Next time you think about borrowing an instrument, playing with it for just a moment, or even lending one out, rethink that real quick! You don't want to be playing on a fret board of someone's dead skin! Yuck!
