If I had the Chance I'd Ask the World to Dance

Dance is the marriage of two things I love---being close with others and music. For me, dancing is the original “when soul meets body experience.” Dancing brings people together. Dancers have secrets, problems, and unknown lives. While dancing none of it matters. We can “send our representatives” to the dance floor. Even pained conversations can be distracted by a really good dance song. We can wait for someone to come along where there is not need to think about choreography, just movement that synchronizes naturally. For me.. a dance hall is the perfect venue. Where else can you get so close to a man and to so many men? Throughout my life I have been driven to dance well enough so I could intereact with all sorts of men…the handsomest, the most ordinary, the sexiest, the funniest, and many of them.
On the dance floor, dancers burn and shine so hot, no one can look at them for long. They are beautiful and dangerous, the drink and the music and the dance filling their bodies with an ecstasy that's fierce and combustible. It's a state of almost religious ecstasy. Or actually, religious ecstasy seems mundane compared to it. It's a state beyond even that--ecstasy with no definition, no guidelines, no bounds. If I could escape into it forever, I happily would.
My friends and I were lamenting that the quickest response from many dates seem to be “I don’t dance.” This is a pity. If dancing is as close to sex that you can get with your clothes on, then why aren’t more men to be found on the dance floor? Why are there so many counter-leaners or bar stool perchers watching the women move past them. It isn’t a strip club. Men if you choose to dance...remember this.... you have already shared intimate space in a public place....maybe just maybe ....your partner may see a possibility to get intimate in private. [wink] For many gals it is because you have shown her that you can move in rhythm with her body, or at least try. So if dancing is the conversation between two bodies, many dancers want to continue the discussions (in private). All the more reason to get on the dance floor I say. I believe that good music and rhythm and becoming one with the beat can be somewhere between great sex and prayer.
No excuses friends…. There is ALWAYS enough dance floor.

For the Sake of Argument
My Apologetics
I absolutely agree.
You cannot be sad if your feet are happy.
My wife first dragged me to the dance floor kicking and screaming. Yet after a few lessons you see the value and the fact that it is something that you can do together.
It does not matter what problems their may be a few minutes on the floor makes them seem trivial.
From being a die hard dance hater (Cynical child of the 80's) I have come to believe that we are all meant to dance.
