The Myesterious Bouvet Island

Bouvet is the remotest island which can effectively be described with the phrase out of nowhere. Its a piece of land emerging from the coldest sea water which is covered with nothing but ice and the centre of the island is an ice-filled crater of an inactive volcano.
Easiest way to access this island is to use a helicopter from a nearby anchored ship. Boats would not come much handy as landing in as it does not have any kind of harbor or port, only offshore anchorage which is just too difficult under best favorable condition and impossible under average normal condition. Even the sides of the land is too steep , almost all sheer icy cliff. This is a barren 49 sq. km glaciated land which will throw one a challenge of existence in every possible way possible.
Any attempt to utilize the island is futile as the sea surrounding the island is too harsh. Pack ice often surrounds the island which makes any harboring more improbable. Even the seal hunters could not use Bouvet as temporary shelter. The island is not much wide so it is easy to miss it and off towards Antarctica. Some claimed this region as whale breeding zone, though no one would attempt to hunt in such condition.
