I think I have a Football Manager addiction
March 26th 2010 15:13
Two years ago I found the game Football Manager 2008, and I started playing that even created my own team via the data editor and wrote a gaming story on this, since then two other games of this series have come out and I have grown addicted to it. Football Manager 2010 has more tactical abilities, and even has a better game view as well, sure the graphics are still a bit behind the games you can play on your PS3, and such but the game is more about your managerial skills and I have found the game to be very addictive.
I went a full 3 months without playing the game, I had last played as Notts County a side in League 2, who are on the way up to League 1 in the Football Championship, since then I have started games as my beloved Newcastle United, and I am very close to promotion in that game, and now I have a journeyman game. What's that? A journeyman game? Yeah, well this is a game where you start off without a job and then find your way to any club around the world. I got a gig first at LA Galaxy and I was doing ok there, nothing special about my career there.
Never seen this league in full so managing a team there was difficult and learning about these waivers and such made it more annoying so after another loss, I quit the team, and then Melbourne Victory in Australia needed a manager. So off to the Asian Cup I went, and we did alright, again nothing special there, I have myself a player I like to sign for these lower clubs in Christian Vieri he did well for Notts Co, but that's not the point of this story.
2 wins, 3 loses in the Asian Cup, and then a very mixed start to the A-League season, the writing was on the wall, Dave Harding was headed to being sacked, but then the English Premier League came a calling, Portsmouth needed a manger and then they signed me. 12 games into the season they are 20th and looking at relegation and this is going to be my biggest test.
I am 14th now, after a few games, and we're deep into January, with the January Transfer window ready to close and I have not signed many players all the ones I wnt to sign they are signed by other teams. My backroom, another addition to the Football Manager series I like seem to want me not to sign Luke Freeman, and Aaron Ramsey from Arsenal.
As you can see I have myself a Football Manager addiction, and I do not see it ending now, I await Football Manager 2011, I hope they make the game with more ability to do such around the touchline, have referee interaction, other manager interaction and more realism then ever before.
Oh, I have also applied to be the South Korean Under 20s manager, but I have not been notified of a new manger there or if they are interested, let's hope that my international career is better then my domestic career.
I also like the addition of create your own playable league, this means that I can create my favourite site Glenorchy Knights and have play in a league. And have Dave Harding super striker playing for Glenorchy!
Well that;'s the dream anyway, back to my football manager addiction that has managed to prevent my active blogging life.
