I MISS THE OLD CARTOONS!

I look at some of the cartoons that are on TV for kids today, and I think about the great cartoons I used to watch. Some of the new cartoons look as thought a preschooler drew them.
Give me Foghorn-Leghorn, the Flintstones, Snaggle Puss, and the Roadrunner and Wiley Coyote. I also loved the Disney cartoons, Donald Duck, Chip and Dale, Mickey Mouse, and the list goes on.
I've heard it said that the older cartoons were more violent than the cartoons readily shown today. I don't know, there didn't seem to be as many cartoon related deaths then as there are now. We always knew it wasn't real and we didn't try the moves on other kids. I don't know if we had different moral values then or that our parents told us it was only a cartoon and we shouldn't try it at home. who remembers?
I do know that if you have direct tv and subscribe to the package with Boomerang included, you will be able to see the older cartoons. Don't get me wrong, I don't sit around all day watching cartoons, I just miss the old cartoons. To tell you the truth, they seemed to be a bit more sophisticated. Boy do I sound like a cartoon snob!
Anyway let me know how you feel about cartoons. Do you pine for the old ones, or are you into the new cartoons.
Imagine that, a grown woman pining for cartoons of yesterday.

I've managed to track down some DVD's with these good ol' fashion cartoons and my kids love them. And yes, they don't try these moves on other because they can see that it is just silly...it is so over the top it is just silly.
Love & stuff

Not that long ago i was trying to explain Rocky & Bullwinkle to them, along with some other old 'toons.
There are a few good ones out theses days too, but a lot of them are pretty useless/standard/unimaginativ e.

I love cartoons like The Simpson and Family Guy.....adult cartoons. But I remember getting out of bed at 5am (the days I could manage it) to watch the cartoons before school. Snagglepuss, Huckleberry Hound. Those were the good ol' days!
