I met a man at work today, who was the rain

I met a man today, at work;
who was the rain,
He was massive and quiet,
and he was the rain,
I must admit that at first I thought he was just a man,
But he told me with such honesty and genuine conviction;
I am the rain,
That I had no choice but to believe him.
He stuttered when he spoke, so it came out like this;
A..a..a.aa.a.a..I'm th..the...the..the..........r ain.
I asked him if he thought that he may have just beleived that he was the rain,
A..a..a.aa.a.a..I'm th..the...the...the.........r ain.
He said, in his way, his long winding and rhythmically pleasing to the ear way, with a great timbre and harmonious pattering...that when he died, the world would be in trouble.
And so it would, I said to him;
We need the rain.
He nodded slowly and smiled slowly,
How can the rain die? He asked, in his way, that pattering, pleasing way,
And how could it?
Could it?
Could he, if;
He was the rain?
We sat a while and he stopped in pattering conversation...looked up and said-
Here I come, here comes the rain,
And gently wetting drops began to drop and there he was;
There was the rain,
I met a man today, at work;
who was the rain.
who was the rain,
He was massive and quiet,
and he was the rain,
I must admit that at first I thought he was just a man,
