I don't know why I do it

This is my first rhyming poem, i hope you like it.
I don’t know why I do it, it’s hard to understand
Why I take my heart and soul and put it in your hands
I wear my heart on my sleeve and my pride on my face
While I hide behind this hollowed mask, you’d think I was disgraced
For the courage that I bring to you, doesn’t come from deep inside
But instead from this orble site with which I use to hide
So I don’t except the things I write, that by other means would do
Because even with this hollowed mask, I still seek praise from you

I like it. I "feel" it. I understand it, and I connect to it... most especially to this part:

For a long, long time, I felt I had to live my life in a public forum, to share my words, my insights, my creative processes and spiritual epiphanies. I still do, to a degree, but not with quite the same "need" as I once felt.
There will always be those who will feel your words resonating within them, and then there will be those who will never "get it" in spite of how hard you try.
Had you not said so, I'd never have guessed this was your first attempt at rhyming poetry. You've presented your words well.
