Hurry Up And Wait
May 7th 2008 17:02
Since my last post, Ive been to Calif. and am now in Utah again. My boss wanted me to get to my delivery place in Denver this morning just in case they might want to unload me a day early. I decided to get some sleep, instead. Hed run my wheels (all 18 of them) off if I let him.
I know that dispatchers who have never driven a truck get the idea that sleep isnt necessary for us drivers. Neither is eating or geting fuel. But my boss was a driver at one time and he should know better. He hasn't heard about the new laws, I guess, that are supposed to insure that drivers get enough sleep. Ill get to Denver this afternoon and he can just deal with it. Last time I broke my butt to get someplace a day early, I got to sit around and wait til the next day anyway. Denver isnt my favorite place to be hanging out.
