Julie KeastHoward denies Rudd threat
Prime Minister, John Howard has denied that his latest cabinet reshuffle is because the government is worried about the threat of the new Labor leader, Kevin Rudd.
Howard finally sacked Immigration minister, Amanda Vanstone who has been dumped to the backbench in favour of the Workplace Relations minister, Kevin Andrews who will now take the Immigration portfolio. Joe Hockey (Human Services) now takes on Workplace Relations while Senator Ian Campbell takes on Human Services with Malcom Turnbull is now Environment minister.
I do wonder if this move of the Prime Minister's to move Malcom Turnbull to the enviroment is one to combat Labor's new Environment and Climate Change shadow minister, Peter Garrett (former frontman of politically motivated band, Midnight Oil) and also sacking Amanda Vanstone from the Cabinet is in reaction to the mess that Immigration has been over the past couple of years but it has been in a mess ever since the current Attorney General, Phillip Ruddock was the Immigration Minister.
Away from politics, I note a lot of media outlets are still talking about the flag and here is the thing people especially governments: govern for the majority not the minority, that is part of the reason why there are so many race related problems in Australia, add to this mix alcohol and softie green groups who somehow convince governments to change their minds in return for their vote at the ballot box and whammo..instantly a problem arises, it has nothing to do with Australian flag, it has a lot to do with boozy teenagers who want to use the flag as some sort of symbol in their own gang warfare.
