How to Write a Thank-You Note
November 22nd 2008 18:47
The holiday season is here. Chances are, you'll receive many gifts at Christmas. Let your friends, family members and coworkers know how much you appreciate these gifts by writing a thank-you note.
Thank you notes are simple to write. This guide will show you how.
1. Purchase a large pack of thank-you notes that will pass for any occassion. This will ensure that you always have one on hand. The cards needn't be expensive. You can find a nice selection at Dollar General.
2. Begin the card with an appropriate salutation, such as "Dear Aunt Betty,". Write as neatly as possible.
3. Now, mention the gift. "Thank you for the lovely birdfeeder."
4. Next, tell why you liked the gift. "As you know, I love to watch birds. This birdfeeder will certainly attract more birds to my yard!"
5. If possible, take a picture of the gift being used. "Enclosed is a picture of my new birdfeeder hanging in the pine tree behind my back porch. As you can see, the birds are "eating it up" already.
6. Sign the note with sincerity, such as "Sincerely, Sarah Jane." Or, "With Thanks, Sarah Jane."
