How to embarrass your child/rethinking the rights of a child

Finally the nutjob (I'm sorry I can't think of a kinder term) who wanted to call his son 4real got his wish in a roundabout way. He called his son "Superman". If anyone wants to really really embarrass their child for eternity they should give them a really really stupid name. Maybe he needs to be reminded that even Superman had a normal personal name in Clark Kent. It wasn't the coolest name out there, but at least it was normal.
People have a certain image of the superhero. What if this child is slim with not a muscle on him? It would certainly have that delicious irony about it, wouldn't it?
I am wondering if calling your child a weird far out name if it would be mentioned anywhere in the UN's Rights of a Child that it might actually be considered cruel and unusual punishment. Children have a right not just to have a name, but a good name that will not subject them to ridicule and abuse. I believe that it should be illegal to foist certain names onto children if it will cause mental harm or distress. In Germany it is illegal to call your child Adolph, which is fair enough. Unfortunately in New Zealand it's legal to call your child anything as long as it doesn't have a number in it. It's not like the Chinese couple who have decided to name their child "@" which means love or something close to that. The kid wouldn't be called "at" but at least the name has a meaning behind it. Which is more than I can say for "Superman". With a name like this it's almost as if the child has had a handicap placed on him by his own parents.
I can't see how having a name like "Superman" won't subject this child to constant teasing. How does a parent explain to a young child in tears why they would choose such a name?
What about in eighteen years and resumes have to be sent out? I don't think that any resume with the name Superman on it could be taken seriously. Neither would when he calls an office to speak to his new girlfriend and if she's busy what's he going to say? Tell her to call Superman or Superman called? Who in their right mind is going to take a message like that and totally believe it?
This situation is one of the strangest things I have ever had the misfortune to read. I hope that good sense prevails someway, somehow and this child will be given a name that will be befitting him. I hope that one day the adult superman wakes up sues his parents and changes his name.
