How times have changed...

Remember when we all used to tolerate one another here at Orble? Remember when we all supported freedom of speech, welcomed controversy, gave as good as we got (or else deleted) offensive comments, came down on those who would censor us?
What happened, folks?

Hiya D! First let me say that it's great to see you back. I've missed your contributions and your sanity around here
OK, on to the subject at hand. I guess I would sum up my opinion about David thusly: "eh". I honestly don't see what the big deal about him was. He was a mediocre (although well-read) writer enamored with his own cleverness. Were we judging his talent in terms of his ego, then he would be Shakespeare. But all I really saw was a semi-talented hack intent on being overtly "provocative" ("ooo, what's he going to say next!"). I never could understand his popularity. His poetry was pretentious and his prose was occasionally indecipherable. I may not be a genius, but I am fairly well-read and can cross the street on my own. What was I missing?
Perhaps the problem is that I prefer clear writing and a minimum of attitude. David was strong on neither of these things. I like it when someone's writing ability speaks to me, and the author doesn't have to wax rhapsodic about what a talented sort he is (something which I observed on more than one occasion). Just my $0.02 of course, D. But I much, much prefer anything that you would write over what I read on his old blogs (or on his new one, for that matter).

God D, all you had to do was mention his name. Look at this!
My opinion? When I first started, I hated him SO much. I didnt understand how someone could be such a mysoginist and yet write 'The Stone Goddess'. We fought back and forth on EVERYONES blogs. But then I got over it. His talent was unbelievable and it gave me something to strive for - themes within themes and imagery and WHOA....I could have analysed his work for DAYS.....In my opinion, everything he wrote was a parody, and if you didnt get it, guess what, it was about you too!
To this day, Im honoured to call him friend.

Ahhhh, the wordophiliac David ... I was an early friend of his and, without wanting to blow my own horn or any such bruhaha, when David got all bitter and angsty (hmmm, that was frequently) he deleted all his friends except me, saying I was the only one who hadn't said a bad word against him ... I think that was purely because I feared he'd tear strips off me ... I missed some of the bigger incidents, such as the whole confrontation and fallout with the Orble Angels ... ahhhh, fond days on the Orble battle field ....
I do miss his acerbic wit and insight ... Sure I didn't like everything he wrote, or think everything he wrote was gold, in fact a lot of his early stuff annoyed the hell out of me, but I became endeared somewhere along the way ...

In the first post of David's I ever read, he said his favourite word was 'meretricious' and he relayed a scenario of telling a woman that she was meretricious in such a way as to make her think she was being complimented, whereas it's actually an insult to her sexuality.
I won't even go into the levels of distaste I have for his message on this post. What was that people were saying about misogynistic, homophobic, narcissistic hacks?
So anyhow, to anyone who is cool with David, can you do me a favour and avoid my blogs? Much appreciated.

PMC, my duty and task in this series is to chronicle the past and present writers who have somehow made their mark here at Orble. Some will be (or once were) universal favorites, others will be (or were) notoriously unpopular. Some should have had a much larger audience. Michaelie,
I'd like to give you the benefit of the doubt, but I'm finding it very difficult... in addition to anti-female and anti-metrosexual comments (I didn't read long enough to catch much other references to gay people, but he seemed quite defensive when takling about Elton John) I have also seen him put down overweight people and people who aren't good-looking (whatever that means - I think everyone can be good-looking). Surely you can't have missed his mean-spirited attacks on these groups, other Orblers (including myself? That was the first time I had been called a 'slut'). How can you claim to be entertained by this disturbed attention-seeking creep?
I went back to David's work a few times trying to look for redeeming qualities, but the deeper I looked the more disturbing it became, and it made Orble a less happy place for me.
If you continue to tacitly support misogyny, homophobia and mean-spiritedness then I find that very distasteful and have no choice but to ask you not to visit my blog...
And yes, I would do this in real life as well. I am proud to say all the people I consider my friends are very careful about which personalities they support, and for what reason.
I have enjoyed talking with you in the past, but your attitude towards David here disappoints me and makes me want for more in an Orble interaction. I'm sorry. If you change your mind, feel free to let me know.

So how aboot it David?
Everyone may contribute, as long as they keep it TOTALLY alliterative, brief and pithy...no 'ifs', 'ands' or 'buts' allowed!!
You start the site up, allowing all to contribute...waddyahrekkon??

By the way, although I did not read all your stuff, as my pooter makes it difficult (slow) enough gadding abooot OrBULL, I saw a huge difference in what you did compared to some others; with your work, one could detect an intellect challenging societal mores, pricking precious egos at the same time exposing his own to assault, whereas some others I have encountered here, are just dumb f*@k moron bigots...in all their genres... who have the collective aptitude and acumen, the artistic qualities, the imagination, of a cow pattie, ( I will put in a waiver here, as some cows do create extraordinarily artistic organic works of nature worthy of some praise).

But then I got over it. His talent was unbelievable and it gave me something to strive for - themes within themes and imagery and WHOA....I could have analysed his work for DAYS.....In my opinion, everything he wrote was a parody, and if you didnt get it, guess what, it was about you too!

I think that was purely because I feared he'd tear strips off me ... I missed some of the bigger incidents, such as the whole confrontation and fallout with the Orble Angels ... ahhhh, fond days on the Orble battle field ....

So, does all this mean the post should be on the "family friendly" filter?
PMC, my duty and task in this series is to chronicle the past and present writers who have somehow made their mark here at Orble. Some will be (or once were) universal favorites, others will be (or were) notoriously unpopular. Some should have had a much larger audience. Either way, their names and work are worth a mention in my opinion.
Anyway, I'm sorry that your dislike of David has carried over to my blog in that you won't vote here. That is, of course, your prerogative.

I think it's pretty harsh collectively telling people who have supported you in the past that you don't want to speak to them, simply because they maybe read into another person's writing differently.
Do you cut off friends in the real world if they see things differently to you? I don't think you ever looked beyond the surface of David's writing, and I'm quite offended by your comment, on my behalf and on the behalf of others you have effectively told to... get lost.

Michaelie,
I'd like to give you the benefit of the doubt, but I'm finding it very difficult... in addition to anti-female and anti-metrosexual comments (I didn't read long enough to catch much other references to gay people, but he seemed quite defensive when takling about Elton John) I have also seen him put down overweight people and people who aren't good-looking (whatever that means - I think everyone can be good-looking).

My take on David is that he is now and always was a button pusher. He knows exactly what to say to push the buttons on each individual. And for that matter, some people know exactly how to push his buttons. And the more things escalated, the more heated things got from most of the involved parties.
I am in the minority of people who feels that David got a raw deal by being banned. This is an extremely unpopular viewpoint these days, and I think that it automatically prompts people to think that you agree with or advocate everything he says. Not the case at all. I do not agree with most of the things he says, I simply think that there are other guilty parties who have come away from the ordeal with far less blame.
I am certain that unless my own eyes have been deceiving me, one could rummage through the archives and find instances where vulgar and vile comments were lobbed at David rivaling his own commentary.
As the saying goes "I do not agree with you what you say, but I will fight to the death your right to say it."

Verrry interesting, isn't it, to see that some people can and do appreciate David's sense of humour.
Even more interesting to see Morgan's early comments - in light of her current attempts to reference the past so selectively.
BTW, Just to clear any possible current confusion: Any comments now left anywhere as 'Anonymous' are not from David. He is has not commented on Orble for a few days. And he says "hello" and will contact you in the virtual corridors where political correctness is not banned.
P.S. He says he is glad to see that Morgan is completely over him.

Thanks for sharing this. It was interesting to read those comments, particularly as I wasn't on Orble when they were made. And I wish there was still freedom of speech. I've always maintained that people should be allowed to say what they want, even if it is offensive to some people.
Teresa,
Why isn't David commenting anymore? Is it because his ISP is blocked? Or has he just given up on Orble?

I have to agree.
Times have changed.
Hell hath no fury like ....? How does that go?
All those that so easily fling accusations at David.
I wonder if any of them could take one tenth of the punishment that they liberally dish out.

Nice to know you still inspire such veracious passion in readers, without doing a thing.....loveit!"
That still sums up my views on David and his writing...it's about entertainment and he certainly does that always...I may not always agree with what he says but it still amuses me how easily he can wind up those who take it all very seriously....after all its mostly topics of politics and religion that tend to create the heated exchanges and everyone knows that opinions on those topics exist in a very grey region of reality....one where changing someones mind is near impossible if they believe they are right...
Ironically i also enjoy Morgan and Ruby's and Damo's etc writing frequently too....
And it's nice to see you returning to the fold D Armenta, how are things in sunny Florida

For me Orble is a bit of a dead zone without David on board, that is not to say that I don*t enjoy reading other posts, but there are those who are just meant to be the life of the party, David is one of those rare individuals : like him or not.
I need intelligent entertainment God Dam it and re-reading that original comments section was pure entertainment.
Who else is there to cover this genre?

I agree. Orble is a bit dead without David. I hope he finds a way to come back. Maybe those of us who didn't want to see him banned should start be as obnoxious and offensive as possible. They can't ban us all!

I was actually just about to send a message to you via one of your own posts. Hope D doesn't mind if I respond here to your question.
David can no longer access Orble even through Anonymous comments. My blog has been blocked because I let David use it.
I see that you have posed questions to Morgan Bell. They will not be answered honestly.
David has directed an inreasingly upscaled tirade against MorganBell (&friends) because she has persistently misled and manipulated to get Orble people on her side and against him. He thinks it is really funny to see her frantically chasing him around Orble getting comments deleted.
I have been on Orble for only about 8 months and have observed how MorganBell&friends operate. I had my suspicions but it was their relentless and very unfair pursuit of Damo that really alerted me to this group. I tried to keep an open mind because, like you, I couldn't get a clear picture.
Then I had a disagreement with Morgan Bell on Jason's post. Her friend Alted (they always work in tandem) attacked me. I didn't ask for these comments to be deleted - I believe in letting things stand. But I did a post asking Morgan Bell to call off her vicious dog.
When I then did a post - I Like Asians - MorganBell&friends attacked me, claiming the post was 'racist' (it wasn't but I did not want to engage with their juvenile insistence that I explain). Morgan Bell immediately did a post - I Like Caucasians - lampooning me, displaying her pathetic version of wit. Alted did his own tragic lampooning post I LIke Niggers which he quickly removed.
Morgan has re-iterated throughout recent Orble pages that David's behaviour is the result of her rejection of him. I asked David why he sent Morgan Bell his phone number. He says
'I have sent my phone number to a lot of women to see if they can pass beyond the virtual stage, or whether they want to play email or MSN ping-pong for the rest of their lives. I don't feel rejected by any of the women who show very early on that they want to live in a virtual world. I'm happy that none of them contact me. I'm also worried that a lot of people on the net are often men masquerading as women or trannies. So until I meet them in real life or at least hear their voice, I'm supposed to accept deception as the norm?'
How many of David's critics have actually met him?
I have a very close personal relationship with David so I'll leave it to you to make your mind up as to who is telling the truth.

Can you just please tell him I said 'hi'? And tell him that I miss our discussions on religion and I wish they could continue somehow. And can you also tell him that I was searching through the top of cupboard for something, and I came across an old rosary that someone had given me probably about 10 years - well it was before my son was born and he's 10 - that I had completely forgotten about. I know that's a stupid message, but I think he'd be interested to know.
Sorry for all the messages (and sorry D for using your blog to send messages to someone who isn't even on Orble!). I would be very grateful if you passed those messages on, Teresa.

Hehehe.
Any way
We all know of people who have been relentless in running campaigns of hate against individuals because they dared disagree with their mental empires.
Yet we never had a situation until now where one narrow minded clique of people conspired to remove one voice person by any gutter tactic possible. And gutter tactics were applied by this small clique who demand to speak as if they owned the Orble Forum.
Despite all the words about liberalism and freedoms we have people who want to censor opinions. However they have no qualms about making chest beating posts about how they are being crushed.
I find it as incomprehensible as it is ignorant that the same people ruthlessly seek to to apply rules to one individual that they would never allow to be applied to themselves.
"Damo and Davids Gay Adventures" Damn that must have taken hours to come up with. I suspect that the explicit gay porn came from the authors personal collection.
"Moot, moot, moot" Featuring artwork by Alt_ed and I quote: "When silly old men ought not fall in love, Directed by the Catholic Church." Riotously hilarious according one person who now wants to 'puke'. I especially like the fact that it targeted individuals and included a bigoted slur. The fact that David claims himself to be a lapsed-Catholic and Damo has never declared what religion he may or may not be is beside the point. Just slur away because according bigots there is nothing more dangerous that Catholics. Yet what I really like is how this post sat on Orble for months and not one person said it was wrong.
Ah yes the wonderful David eating a penis Post by Alt_Ed with approving comments by those that would have us believe that they have such a sensitive disposition that they may 'Puke.'
Now as the double standards and lingering suspicions that others may be target for such treatment I guess the anti-David lobby do have a slight PR problem. They ruthless seek to purge one writer after ruthlessly taunting and teasing him. However they also want to be seen as nice friendly trustworthy people.
I love watching purges.
They crack me up almost as much as branch stacking does.
Thank you Orble Thought Police. Thank you, Thank you, Thank yoooooou....

David has read your comments. He says 'hi' and he misses your discussions too but apparently, in this age of religious tolerance, all religions are tolerated except Catholicism. His religious discussions these days are limited to channelling the spirit of Anton le Vay. He asks if you could use those rosary beads to drive the freak away.

As for all the examples you cited. They were all by alt-ed. Who has also been banned.
Yes can I say that loud enough for you all to hear? ALT_ED HAS ALSO BEEN BANNED FROM ORBLE!
What's more, no one is moaning about his banishment because we all honestly know that his behaviour warranted it.
Now, is anyone in this tiresome cheersquad gong to admit that David also deserved it? How many times do you think David was going to call Jon a cunt and tell him to fuck Morgan before Jon finally had enough? How many racist slurs against Jews? How many homophobic taunts?
Freedom of speech is a wonderful thing. But even more wonderful is knowing when to restrain yourself.
Neither David nor Alt_ed understood this. That's why they are both no more. But you know, no-one is stopping either one of them from coming back with different user names and a more pleasant disposition. That's why this whole thing is a joke. David could be on here today if he wanted to. Problem is, he can't hep himself and his words always give him away.

You were trying to say 'casting aspersions' because 'casting dispersions' means casting spells.

Are you aware that the term 'meme' has actually entered the mainstream lexicon? That it simply means any idea or belief that is rapidly transferred and accepted by a large part of the population? That it is no longer just a term peculiar to evolutionary biology?
Or have you not read a dictionary since before I was born?

Why not.try casting a few 'Dispersions'?

Now where was I?
Ah yes.
My haven't things changed when those who do not run Orble try speak as if they do?
How does anyone get that job?
"Lord of what is allowed to be said on Orble.
Queen of the censors."
"It is not censorship when it is politically correct censorship."
"I speak for all writers on Orble."
Need we say more?
If the same rules were aplied to the anti-David clique as it was to David then none of them would be here.

CLICKHERE for Davids first post as Mistersmith after he was banned from Lady Henrietta Muddling
Hi D,
The above comment was made to you by Morgan Bell on her Tony Alamo post. I am responding here because Morgan Bell will not verify my comments.
My posting name is Mistersmith.
David's blog was blocked so I allowed him to post on my blog. Then, without warning or notification from Orble, I was also blocked. Currently, I am able to still comment on Orble but David is unable to do even that.
Morgan Bell's contention that David began to harrass her after she rejected him is ludicrous and if she truly believes this she obviously has even less perception than I gave her credit for. It seems more likely that she has decided to just keep reiterating this fallacious claim (if I say it enough times it will be true) to convince Orble readers of her version of events. She got David banned but that wasn't enough. She continued to vilify him on other posts. I find that reprehensible. That post she gives the link to, claiming it was David's first post, was by me, not David. She simply cannot comprehend that another female could take his side.

I want to know what is going on with ORBLE before I can*t even post a bloody anonymous comment anymore!?
I have been unable to log in to my blogs and post now for over a week and I have just learned that Tracy*s Movies and Life post has been GIVEN AWAY without her being notified, only to be told by the new blog *owner* that he doesn*t mind *working something out with her* .. CAN YOU BELIEVE IT???
... am I (are we all) to worry about the same thing happening, despite my writing to ORBLE ADMIN five days ago to ask what was going on??? Some of us have taken years to build up our blogs...WTF?
Has anyone else experienced deifficulty in logging in to post new posts, or had their blog given away?

Jon sent out a post about passwords being reset.
Really Long Link
His reason:
"A number of passwords have been reset due to recent problems with people taking control of other accounts."
Well, that was descriptive.
Anyway you are not the only one disturbed by recent turn of event and the unique way that Orble has defined its customer service.

But atleast I can respond again and my words remain mine.
Poor Tracy. I can understand Admin jacking up if you haven*t posted for a while and checking, but she claims they didn*t even write an email to ask this time?
Did Jon post to advise us on that change and did I miss it?

I wondered what happened to Tracy.
The whole of Orble has become like Negativeland.
The average quality of the writing has slumped down to high school level if not lower.

Hahaha!! It takes a hell of a lot more than a gaggle of delusional cyber-teens to budge my self-respect! I learned how to deal with their ilk in grade 7.
Lilla and Jimmy: Yeah, how did these twentysomethings turn out to have such a monumental sense of entitlement??
The swollen ego, the conviction that they know more than everyone else, the obsession with self-image, popularity and sex...that all goes with the territory.
People have been going through that stage in their late teens/early twenties since the dawn of Mankind. I've come to the conclusion that it's hard-wired into every generation expressly for the entertainment of the previous generation.
You've got to admit it's pretty funny to watch. I'm sure I amused the hell out of my parents and their friends when I was that age..remembering some of the dumbass things I said and did makes me cringe now!
What I don't get are the sense of entitlement and the extremely defensive attitudes with this bunch. Makes me feel kind of sorry for them..wonder what makes them this way?
