How sore was your vasectomy?

It was at the point that the surgeon said: "You should grit your teeth now" that I started wondering if I should have opted for the sedative or even the general anaesthetic.
I got over the pain of the needle going through my scrotum and even the pressure of the anaesthetic filling the tiny space of my vas deferens with the resultant excruciating squeezing sensation, from the inside; when he said: "OK now let’s do the other side."
Tip 1: You have two testicles, expect two injections.
After that it wasn't so bad really. I could feel the clamps and at one point needed a drop more anaesthetic as I was wincing a bit and the surgeon said that doesn't seem right.
It was also quite surreal being conscious and wondering what that smell of burning was.
Tip 2: Expect the ends of your cut vas to be cauterised. Don't expect any beers, it’s not a BBQ.
I had a week of mild discomfort and found myself constantly admiring my swollen shaved testicles. Just like in the porno movies.
Tip 3: You can be fired for admiring your balls at work.
