this is in continuation to our last discussion..
5. Convince them how important it is to do marketing of your property and attract more customers. Show them how other competitors are doing and how it will help their own business if they invest in marketing activities
6. Its important to have a person dedicated for Sales and Marketing activities so you can focus on operations part to better the quality and customer service. Most owners will try to merge management into sales and marketing but unless you prove them where its leading, they won’t know because they can only see that they are saving on payroll by not hiring sales person. Even though expense wise it looks good not to have a sales person, it will effect how revenue numbers will be twice
7. Keep them updating on status of hotel operations in terms of revenue and customer service on a weekly basis or monthly basis depending on property. They should be aware of any changes you plan to make or why you are making.
8. Keep a good record of all purchasing receipts, expense report by each department and if possible, a justification for each item so they are aware where the money is spent so you won’t be questioned on spending habits and accused of any wrong-doing.
