And so, caste into the Darkness,
Immersed without meaning
Of time and place
Losing sense of the known yet
Unable to know this new unknown
Cradled tightly by the nothingness
Of loss so total and unyielding.
No understanding, no meaning
Only fear, only pain.
Silence is the enemy
Who knows this fear
And speaks to it
In ways which give it meaning.
And now the fear takes hold
Growing and nurtured from within
Yearning to sense itself
Cascading into being
With flourish and desire
To become as one within and beyond.
And in its eagerness
It becomes powerful, yet not so
For from this very energy
So ultimate and raw
Another is known
Deep and as yet not well formed
But still and persistent
In its realness
And in the darkness
Something changes
A whisper of promise
Silken yet irrepressible in its intent
Rising within
Almost lost to perception
Yet deeply known
And understood
As it was and as it is
Powerful and alluring
Hope emerges from unknown places
And speaks to the Darkness
