1. Getting to Honduras - You can fly into the international airports located in San Pedro Sula, Teguciglapa, and Roatan. There are connecting flights to La Ceiba. TACA, American and Continental all fly to Honduras regularly. Delta also offers some flights.
2. Getting a Room -- You can easily find popular 5 star hotels by checking online hotel sites Major cities have Intercontinental Hotels, Clarion, Holiday Inn and Best Westerns. The local travel guide, Honduras Tips has full listings for hotels and restaurants, and should be available for free in many hotels.
3. Seeing the sites -- Eco-tourism is the easiest and cheapest option. Honduras has many National Parks, which have small entry fees. The most expensive government park is the Mayan Ruins at Copan, which cost $25 to enter. There are seven major National Parks within a few hours of La Ceiba. Honduras has beautiful flora and fauna and hiking into the green spaces is a great way to vacation.
4. It will be hard to say goodbye. But some fine Honduran Cigars or a hammock to take home. Remember to tip your hotel maid and taxi driver (wages are quite low here)
