Homepage Post Summary

A new homepage post summary format has been created which will suit blogs which have an image in just about every post.

You can see an example on the Fashion blog.

To select this format, click on the Settings link for your blog, scroll down to Post Summary, and choose the Tile option.


There is only one format available at the moment, however suggestions for other homepage post summary formats are welcome.

I've just fixed a bug for the pop-up boxes where the background was the wrong colour. This will be working properly after the next code update.

Very nice, I like the idea a lot. However, I prefer to have the 1-2 most recent posts first and then this summary.

Another option could be to have thumbnails in the "Popular Posts" section/sidebar of the blog. Instead of 10 make it 5 (just for space purposes, thumbnails are bigger) and have a thumbnail and the text of the "short title" underneath.

But that's just me.

Fimlpeek, I second your opinion about atleast one post above the post-summary. As in, visitor will not see the post-summary very different than before and moreover it appears above the fold. The blog shall look new almost all time to visitors. So the visitors will come back again n again..

Secondly, the option of having thumbnails on the sidebar also looks good.

Can we have atleast one portion of sidebar editable to add our own javascript or own html code?

ah this is great! i post a few pictures sometimes and this format is a lot cleaner than just a running series of pictures.

Adrienne -- are you still having problems? We have made some changes to my.orble, there may be a bug. I seem to be able to login fine and I've had no other complaints so it could be something specific to your account.

Having one post above the summary is a good idea. I've put it on the list.

Yes, still major problems!!! I can't log in to My Orble...it flips out!

Has the way you make "new posts" changed...I was able to log in using a crappy proxy server (which doesn't allow me to post pics or anything like that) but the "create new post" option disappeared!

Help?

Adrienne -- the original problem you descibed should be fixed now.

The control panel has also changed format. If you click on the "My Blogs" link you will have all the functionality you used to have. I will probably fix this to put back in the functionality that was there before...

how do I spruce up the look of my profile page...so many bloggers have cool, interesting headers and graphics and backgrounds on their home pages and profile pages...where do I go to make mine look NOT so boring?
