Exaltation

November 12th 2010 18:06

Church of today is very different to what it was when I first became a Christian. For instance the songs of today are not the same as yesteryear. Do they really exalt God the father today, or do the song leaders pick new songs because they sound good, Are they really exalting, or do really know what they’re singing about. They teach these songs to the church and what do the church think.

The songs are up beat and I find that people don’t really exalt God in a church environment as they use to. Well that’s my view anyway. I might be wrong. So what happens now? Now a days, the only and true way to worship God and exalt him, is from your own heart at home, in your own time out with the father and creator of our lives.

Singing praise songs of old, giving it all you’ve got, to exalt him into the highest of the highest place. Then God really knows where your heart is. Not other people but you and God. In your own prayer closet. No-one else knows the deep thoughts or hidden things that you’ve done in the past but God.

As these things are bought to the attention of the father. And knowing in your own heart that you have been forgiven is reason enough to Exalt, Praise, Honour, and Glorify Jesus who made this all possible when he took our sins upon the cross. At this point our minds and heart is pouring out with gratitude, worship, and tears begin to flow. I believe it is only at these times our hearts are in the right place, that true worship can be given to God

As for me in a church setting, as a song is being sung, only a few hands are lifted including mine and my husbands in order that his name is exalted. But do I feel comfortable praising God at that moment, to be honest, NO. On the other hand, I go to church for fellowship and to hear the word and to hear what God has to say. I believe God gathers his children individually to hear

EXALT and PAISE THE LORD

Life on the street

November 10th 2010 21:22
At 9years old, because of mental physical and sexual abuse, Inflicted on me by family and others, Found that I had enough of the abuse since 5 years old. So decided to run away.

I met up with kids who lived on the streets for about 3-4 years now. They welcomed me into their fold. where I felt safe warm and comfortable.

These kids came from familiar back grounds. and they had enough of that life too. They taught me a few tricks of how to defend myself, trust them, and become family

They became just that in my life. At last I felt free to do what I liked, when I wanted and how I wanted. Free from all the abuse especially by my family. Ooooh How I hated them all.

Then I was introduced to dope. It was nice being high No worries, and not a care. Just having fun. We didn't go looking for it or paying for it, it just came to us.

By the age of 12, alcohol wasn't a problem either. We would go behind a hotel and empty out the bits at the bottom of the bottle… didn't take long before 2 bottles were filled then there was enough. 3 or 4 swigs of the mixed top shelves we were feeling quite happy.

So let’s have a look now. At aged 9, I knew all there was to know about sex,
And same age became a street kid, and smoked dope. Aged 12 I became an acholic. Then at 17, had my 1st kid. Fell into other relationships, and more abuse. Had more kids to them too.

Now where was God in all this? I feel he had taken me out of the life of abuse. I was able to forgive my mother and older sibblings. Not to mention abusive partners. To recognise right from wrong. I learnt to forgive myself for my own mistakes.

There is much more I could write about, but just to look back to where I was and to where I am today, I could see that Gods hand was upon me. I also see that I should have been dead many times over. But God allowed me

to go through it all, to testify of his goodness and give him glory. P.T.L

Jesus told many earthly stories with heavenly meanings throughout scripture, while he was minitering here on earth. One parable for example was the sewing of the seed. This is a true story that hapened in our family lifes that we will never forget and laugh about.

It was cold, and winter had well settled in. But that didn't stop our children from getting outside to play. They were playing hide and seek. Daughter number 3 was in. After awhile, she found them all except one. The youngest. All the children joined the seach. But still couldn't find him. It was tea time. My partner called them in to eat. We can't find Thurston mum they cried.

As you well know, night comes in early during winter. But they couldn't find Thurston. We called for him but he wasn't answering. It was getting dark now. His jersey was found on the lawn. So he would have been very cold. We noticed the gate was ajar and thought he might have got out.

Daughter number 1 and eldest son went down to the shops to see if he was there. But everything was shut up for the night and all lights were out. but still he couldn't be found. Panic sticken my partner rang the police to help. It wasn't long before they were on our doorstep.

They were very good and went out side, torches in hand, and tried to find him. But to no avail. Tears began to sting my eyes. then wept uncontrolably. Where is he? my head realled with aweful thoughts. I could not control them. Where could he possibly be.

The police tried to pasify me but it wasn't working. They assured me they will find him. Feeling a little better, we served tea. I couldn't eat for thinking where my boy was. My partner asked Why don't you make us a nice cuppa and sit awhile. I kneeled to get a pot out to boil water for a cuppa. I screamed and everyone ran into the kithen to see what all the camotion was all about.

There amongst the pots was our precious little boy, curled up, and fast asleep. My partner lifted him out and gave him to me. I held and cuddled him as he woke. everyone was laughing now. and so was I. Happy tears flowed freely freely to see him cuddled up and warm. All he could say is "i'm hungry
Your text goes here"

The moral of this story,
I was lost but now I'm found. Jesus the sheepherd had 100 sheep. 1 wonded off So Jesus looked until he found him, lifted him in his loving arms and bought him back into the fold.

My Experience of the Presence of God

October 27th 2010 06:23

Writing blogs is my husband Stephen’s forte. In the midst of his writing, he’s not one that likes to be disturbed while his working for the Lord. Not feeling all that well and needed some fresh air, taking a walk was inevitable. Unbalance was one of my problems among other things. So, with walking stroller in hand, took a slow walk to the shops
