My eight year old son is always eager to share his Hi/Lo of the day. All of my children actually really enjoy it. So his latest is as follows.
HI-Making the relay team at school-
He said 6 kids were invited to try out and one kid was cut. Obviously the boy was devasted and was crying. I though, oh no, If they can only have 4 kids plus one for the substitute then they should have had at least 7 or 8 kids picked to try out. To have one loser is so embarassing for kids that age. And if any of you have boys of the same age you know how they enjoy taunting each other. It is so interesting.....
So my son made the relay team and I am estatic. I love sports and am very excited to watch him compete. Sports are such an excellent thing for children and even a child who is not very athletic can be encouraged to find some physcial activity they enjoy and work to do well at.
Lo-He didn't have one
C'mon he made the relay team, what could get him down now!
My Lo today was hearing an advertisement for a reality show about people getting evicted. what kind of a society is this that we want to view such a low point in someone's life? Will these people give permission to be taped? Ofcourse not. Shameful.
My Hi was cutting my lawn. It was well overdue and it looks great now. I don't like the job but could not wait on the hubby anymore. I sure am grateful that I have a lawn to mow and a mower to do the work.
Last year I started the practice of asking my children 14, 8,3, what was their hi and lo of the day. I was really intrigued by theri responses. I started to hear things from them I never heard before. And they really looked forward to sharing. Fro my older daughter, I sometimes add, drama, fears/worries, hopes/dreams. I really love the feedback I am getting.
So I will share it with you along with my own Hi/Los and i would love to hear yours too.
