Atheism Vs God

July 26th 2009 21:19
I had such great feedback from the last discussion about evolution vs creationism. So I thought why not tackle the fundamental issue of both. I think the format we used the last time worked pretty well so we'll do it again. I will pose some questions to both groups. I ask that everyone that post here to please be respectful, lets have an intellectual debate and make people think, because after all that's the idea. My position is clear on God is clear but I would like to open the forum for all who want to participate to share their view.

1. Does God Exist?

2 What evidence is their to support your answer?

3 What contribution has either side made to society?

4 What would be required to persuade you to change sides?

Of course this is an open discussion so if they're additional questions anyone would like to add I encourage that as well.

Creation Vs Evolution 4 Questions.

July 24th 2009 14:47
Yesterday. I posed some questions on the subject of evolution and creation to see if we couldn't get a debate going. That appears to have been an epic failure. However I do have folks that read this material so I will take a crack at answering the four questions from my perspective and we'll go from their.

1. Which story is more likely? 4.5 million years or the Bible's 6000 or so years since the beginning.

Answer. So which is it well from a scientific standpoint both are not provable. Think about it were supposed to believe that many many many years ago in a galaxy far away there was the big bang, then the earth cooled into a solid mass and after time and a little rain the chemicals formed into this primordial mass and from that came life which has evolved to this day. Now, if Christianity and the creation story is a myth and a religion what is evolution. Both to be fair are supported by faith, but only one requires that you pay taxes for it to be taught in public school, doesn't seem fair does it? In the United States they're laws that require textbooks to be accurate but evolution keeps being taught as if it were fact.

2. Should both be taught in school or just evolution?

Answer. Well I may have inadvertently answered that in the previous question. However, let me expand on it a bit. I think that science should be taught in school. I'm not against that, what I do have a problem with is the teaching of the evolution religion in school at our taxpayer expense. I think to be fair, and some schools have done this already is to teach both and allow the student to decide which is the best explanation.

3. What solid evidence supports either theory?

Answer. Well to say I'm a little bias on the Biblical perspective would be a huge understatement. However I believe that there is scientific evidence to support the biblical account of the flood and dinosaurs etc... For solid answers lets face it science like medicine is best guess. And when you draw conclusions they have to be based on some kind of factual information, especially if there going to be taught to our young children as fact. I believe Dinosaurs roamed with man on the earth. I believe there was a flood just as the bible states and geological evidence proves that. I believe that the world is around 6000 years old not 4.5 billion. If someone would like to discuss specific points then I'm happy to do that. Please ask away.

4. Is Evolution Theory a religion depending on faith rather then fact to support it?

Answer. Again I may have inadvertently answered this already however let me expand on my position. I think when you go from the realm of fact and move to faith based thinking it's a religion. To assume that we came from a a rock is absurd. Some I'm sure would say that to assume we came from a higher intelligence is absurd as well. My point is that in schools one is being taught to be a religion and the other as fact when both are based on faith. No solid evidence for evolution has ever been presented to solidify it as fact. Now let me clearly define that variations in species do occur, which is referred to by some as macro evolution. I believe a more there should be a more appropriate term but if this is your definition of evolution then I agree with you because that's science and can be observed.

So there's my take on it and I'm interested to know yours. Feel free to respond and add anything to the topic you can. For evolutionist I look forward to a great debate, However I think your evidence will be weak and easily explained away. Good luck

Creation Vs. Evolution

July 23rd 2009 12:18
This topic has recently come up in the area in which I live as I'm sure it has come up and been discussed at some point in your life. Creation vs. Evolution seems to be a common debate topic down through the years. So why not discuss it again and see if we can learn anything new. Here's the main questions regarding the topic.

1. Which story is more likely? 4.5 million years or the Bible's 6000 or so years since the beginning.

2. Should both be taught in school or just evolution?

3. What solid evidence supports either theory?

4. Is Evolution Theory a religion depending on faith rather then fact to support it?

I would be interested to hear from you. Whats your take on any or all of the questions. Or please feel free to add additional questions that might be relevant to the discussion.

In God We Trust. Not?

July 15th 2009 00:14
So here we go again. Another group complaining about "In God We Trust" and The Pledge of Allegiance being posted on Capitol Visitor Center in Washington. Here's what they say...

The Madison-based Freedom From Religion Foundation's lawsuit, filed in U.S. District Court in western Wisconsin, claims the taxpayer-funded engravings would be an unconstitutional endorsement of religion.

I was able to participate in a discussion on another blog that was about the topic of homosexuality. The question that was posed by the author was " Is Homosexuality a Choice?" I thought the question deserved an answer so I posted a reply, and to my surprise a got alot of questions about my post. With that in mind I thought it would be prudent for me to clarify my position and give reference where I can as to why I feel the way that I do about homosexuality. I would like everyone to understand that It is not my intention to offend anyone or to condemn anyone for there beliefs, but to present the information from a Biblical perspective as I understand it to be. I will apologize in advance for any offense real or imagined that is created from this post. Lets Begin

I will give a list of the questions and statements that I received from the other blog all good questions to, I might add

I really thought that it would be sometime before I got to point the finger at the Vatican. Lord knows I have tons of material, however there are some things that are so blatant that they need to be pointed out. Before this gets relegated to the dust bin of old news articles I thought it would be interesting to point out the Catholic Church in its ongoing attempt to appease the masses, Has now taken the heretical step of approving witchcraft and sorcery, which is in complete contrast to the teachings of the Bible.

Let's be fair though, We'll see what they said in there newspaper and then compare it to what the Bible has to say on the issue. Here's the AP version of what the Holy See's newspaper, "L'Osservatore Romano" had to say

Welcome True Brothers in Christ.

July 12th 2009 11:16
Over many months I have been trying to examine my relationship with Christ Jesus, and what I believe. Quite frankly I was shocked to discover what I thought I knew about Christ and his Word was very little. However during my research I have discovered not only did I know very little about my Lord and Savior, but that most of what I had been taught was flat out wrong.

I look forward to continuing my studies and sharing the experience of my journey with you and learning of your experiences if and when you reply to these post. So why is the blog called Heretic Hunters well I believe that much of what is commonly accepted in Christianity is false. Let me make one thing clear before I go any further I'm not hear to offend anyone or to discredit any one who is involved in religions that I do not agree with. Every statement that will be made in this blog will have factual basis behind it. i will support the statements made here with fact, Often times with there own literature. I will weigh and measure everything against the Kings James Version of the Bible
