Dating Truth

Dating

Before partners get a hold into relationships, the foundation must be well-built, that’s why Dating is very important in establishing interests, friendships and even perhaps in love. Dating would differ according to the cultures of people; how people apply their traditional dating and eventually adapt to whatever changes the modern society is influencing them.
Today, dating progress into a different range of concepts where Interested Singles could find dates in just a click of a mouse. Most single men and women are involved in this kind of activity. One which is the most familiar is the Online Dating. This is a dating system in finding and communicating a partner through the use internet websites. These websites like Singles Asian also cater the individuals to develop personal contact, romance and sexual relationships. There are even online dating sites for disabled single persons which is called Handicap Dating. This allows them to search for partners who are in the same situation as theirs, which somehow helped them communicate in similar ways and interests for them to feel that belongingness. Many sites also nowadays are broad- based with members from different places, backgrounds who are searching for open and different types of relationships they desired. So gays, lesbians and bisexuals are welcome here. While the existence of these kinds of dating sites is increasing, there is also the existence of problems in using these. Such problems are the use of fake identities of some of the members. We cannot really assure a hundred percent truth on the profiles of the members. But even when members’ profiles are “real”, there is still an inherent lack of trust with other members, which is usually normal to the veracity of the virtual world. Because some of these sites are confined in the service to heterosexual couples, Gay Rights groups have protested because they feel that they are being discriminated.

Traditional Dating may seem not too “mainstream” now but there are still a lot who practice this culture because of its value: and how a person shows sincerity to the one he/she is dating with. Traditional Dating is common to some countries in Asia like Philippines, Malaysia and other Muslim countries. Rules of traditional dating are costumed through time from generation to generation. A man would invite personally the girl to have a dinner together, sending love letters, giving flowers, or offering gifts. It’s not that there are certain steps you must follow as much as knowing what they are and how to use them to benefit you, but life is easier if we follow a certain process. I just thought this time that maybe girls would appreciate it more if the dating is traditional and old-fashioned because girls love flowers and chocolates. The more effort the guy does, the more the girl would appreciate it.

This dating process as a whole is not merely about satisfying your needs because this is the mainstream or not. In circumstances like this, dating should be an eye opener to look for that someone who will be special and will have a big role in your life. Even in our society, the cycle always wants a feeling to love and be loved. Thus, dating has a big role in influencing our decisions in loving someone and giving ourselves, because what will follow after dating could be a “relationship”, and then it becomes serious and could progress to “wedding bells”.

HOBBIES OF THE TEENS!!

May 18th 2010 01:38
Teens of today are very much enthusiastic, open-minded and adventurous. Even though we say that modernization of technologies has replaced the existence of the so called traditional hobbies like reading books, writing poems, collecting stamps or playing outdoor sports, teens just sidetrack their interests to much more ideal and modern hobbies- more than just the usual socialization.
1. The virtual world. I’m talking about the ultimate addiction of the teens, and this is the existence of social networking sites like Facebook, My Space, Bebo, Friendster, Twitter, Plurk, to name a few. This has always been in the list because all of my friends do have these accounts, even my parents and my grannies. People use these network sites to keep in touch with their friends, relatives, reconnect with old friends and create real- life friendships through related interests or groups. This also could help people in marketing certain products, business, music or anything in their fields. Most of these sites also offer features and programs that best fit the interest of each one like blogs, forums or discussions, games and designing their profile page. This has always been also the best buds of the some who are too shy enough to socialize in public.
Based on the survey of Social Media Today last March 2010 for the Top 10 Social- Networking Websites and Forums, Facebook has the highest number of members with almost 360 million. Then, Followed by Youtube and Tagged. This social Networking phenomenon has gradually evolved to include more than the teenage stereotype- looking to expand their network of friends and be in the mainstream.
2. The texting milieu. Text messaging is very popular because from time to time we really need to get in touch with with our loved ones and friends, we share and express simple personal ideas and give feedbacks to certain thoughts. This is one of the easiest and the most affordable ways of communication, and some would consider texting as a hobby. What’s cool about texting is that you will apply a lot of acronyms to make your messages short; you can text faster and much more efficiently. People who text a lot would also know a lot of these acronyms. The more acronyms and short hands you know, the cooler you are. This kind of activity eventually changes the everyday use of a language and further developed an impact to the society, such as the issues of politics, sex, education, and crime.
There are people who can’t live a day without texting and some would just be texting all day long, which is somehow really a waste of time. There’s nothing wrong actually of texting, as long as it doesn’t interfere with the much more important things.
Philippines is tagged as “The Texting Capital of the World” for the country has 42.78 million mobile phone subscribers. ‘Presently each mobile phone user in the Philippines is sending out at least 10 text messages a day compared to about 3 text messages per user in the United Kingdom (Pertierra 2005a: Ling 2004). In addition to this, about one Filipino in two is a subscriber to a mobile phone service.
3. The mainstream music. Music is life to the most of the teenagers. It’s like an air they breathe everyday in order to enhance learning and culture. It is normal for us to be so inclined into the different types of music because it’s one way for us to express what we feel. Music is such a wonderful influence for it promotes creativity, self- expression and self- confidence. For many teens, they consider Music as a hobby which ends up costing a bit of money.
So what’s the most popular genre of music that teenagers nowadays like so much? For boys, more on Alternative and Metal Rock, while girls are into Pop. Teens now are keen on party music and RNB too, like of the Black Eyed Peas, Beyonce, Justin Timberlake, Rihanna and Chris Brown. Music has also influenced us on how we dress, talk, walk or carry ourselves. For the teens who love Rap so much, they tend to dress loose clothes. For the Emo and Goth, they most likely into color blacks and skinny jeans, with sometimes their eyes lined black.
Study shows that Music is often blamed for influencing particular behaviors and sometimes associated with negative behavior and actions. It says that the teens who are becoming more violent, more sexually active and who are into taking drugs are usually influenced to the kind of music they listen, particularly Rock Metal.

But no matter what it is, the world of internet, text messaging and music has brought happiness to everyone. And it’s always the responsible of the PARENTS to look after their children, not just to the music they listen but to the hobbies they are in to, because these all are part of growing up.
