Hectic Monday

Hi all,
Once again, I'm sorry for the late post. Been swamped today. Trying to get everything organized from the weekend and for the week and also, my mother-in-law came in, so I had to pick her up from the airport. For years we have never had an ideal relationship, but now things are strange. My father-in-law passed away last year in October and it has been a trying time for everyone. I think that is a lot of the contribuing factors in my wife's depression, besides the finances. Her mother has been very difficult since then and nobody is pointing fingers, since thankfully I am not in that situation, but it has made an already unstable relationship even more sensitive. Things are now like walking on eggshells and everyone is very sensitive. It is not easy, but trying to make the best of everything. Hopefully, her week here with the three kids will help her relax.
Not to nitpick here, but whenever she comes, I am told that she is coming just for a long weekend. The trip is from today until next Wednesday, I have to show everybody the dictionary entry for weekend, but I know that this is not the time. Oh well...
Back to my writing. On Friday, I told you all that I was going to a critique group on Saturday. My first one. It was interesting. There were four of us there and I was the only male. I was my usual outgoing self so I didn't feel uncomfortable. Nobody brought anything to read, so that was a bit of a waste but I think it should be fun and maybe beneficial. I am supposed to e-mail everybody a few of my pages to critique for the next meeting. I will probably do that this week and see. Curious to see what everyone thinks of it. There is also a writer's conference in June in Orlando. Am thinking about going, if the price isn't prohibitive. Have a few more days to decide before cutoff date. Maybe I will. Will let you know. It could be a good place for networking. So, will debate it.
Yesterday, my son had another tee-ball game. It was so brutally hot though, that I felst so bad for him. He was sweating and read and remember, he is only 4 years old. He kept asking me if we were going home yet. As much as I wanted to, I wanted him to stick it out and he did. Proud of him. He is so cute running around the bases, if I do say so myself.
Until tomorrow,
Jonathan
