Hearth's 10 gave Srilanka 10 wicket victory
First test between Srilanka and New Zealand sounded a thriller till the start of the third day .New Zealand winning the toss elected to bat, started badly by giving cheap wickets to the Srilankan young seam bowler Eranga , then Brendon McCullum and Danial Flynn started to study the ship with a very good partnership of 90 runs ,when every thing seems to be set for a big total, Rangana Herath ,the Srilankan veteran strikes with the wicket of Brendon McCullum .From then New Zealand was never comfortable with spin ,Though Danial Flynn gave his best he was not able to withstand to the classic left arm spin bowling by the veteran .Srilankan veteran is awarded with a five wicket haul which means New Zealand got out for just 221.
Srilankan’s started the innings very confidently and the New Zealand pacers had no idea how to stop the flow of runs and this made srilanka chase the total easily and win the match by 10 wickets and the debutant who gone out for a golden duck played positively and scored his first test half century. with the ten wicket haul Rangana Herath is awarded Man Of The Match .A match which promised a lot ended up one sided and the weakness of spin bowling is again show quite clearly for the kiwis .being cricket lovers we want matches to go the wire and we hope this happens in the coming matches atleast
