Has Damo been cut-off?

July 9th 2009 00:57
Last night I opened an email from Orble indicating that I had received a private message. I clicked the link and Damo had sent me a message asking if I had been cut-off yet... It was quite late so I didn't have a chance to respond before bed. This morning when logging into Orble all Damo's posts have been deleted and his profile images are gone - HAS DAMO BEEN CUT-OFF?

There is no doubt in my mind that a certain unscrupulous blogger who claims to be sleeping with Jon is behind Damo's disappearance from Orble.

I think we're all entitled to a true explanation of why our dear friend has been CHOPPED OFF!!!

I'm sorry Orble - but you have just failed in your Duty of Care.

I've no idea Samantha - I can only presume that he was chopped-off for voicing his opinions; opinions which a certain blogger on this site despised so greatly that she has made it her soul purpose to see him purged for months.

No Aimee. He left of his own accord. It was his own decision. He wasn't banned.

BTW the blogger you claim is unscrupulous is joking about sleeping with Jon. Quite a number of people accused her of it because she was writing posts on how to use Orble thinking it would be of help to people so she ran with the joke.

It wouldn't be fair to blame others of his departure when he chose to go. He did contact some to let them know he was going.

Just thought I'd clear it up before the rumours get out of hand and more flaming starts up. I'm not accusing you of flaming, you are obviously concerned for Damo.

Hey Aimee! All I can tell you is I got 2 emails this morning around 7AM B.C time re: two new posts from Damo.

The first was about a new post titled " Thanks Perry Mason but we are not Idiots" @ Really Long Link

Following closely on it's heels was another titled "Dear Jon you are Fired." in which Damo said he would be leaving Orble and that he had deleted his posts. The new posts revolved around alleged recent censorship by Orble and the alleged deletion of portions of some writers blogs by Orble management.
And you thought it could only happen in Russia.

Gosh, it seems like a few people are leaving...

Cheryl this just goes to prove the double standards that Admin apply to bloggers on this site. They ruthlessly censor some folks, removing portions of posts or comments without so much as a quick email notification - and let others run around spreading rumours about alleged sexual alliances.

Damo left of his own accord because he is a dignified man - I still believe however that the liberal bias that is evident on this site had a lot to do with it.

Are our site messages private or can Admin access them?

I thought I deleted quite a lot, but they were still there today. Now I'm deleting from the 'sent' as well as 'receive' just in case I got the process wrong.

It's such a looong job though.

I can't abide loads of out of date messages hanging
around.

I notice there's a query on the forum about missing comments today.

**********

Silly me, I thought I had posted this in the Writers' Forum - obviously not.

I must have clicked on the wrong buttons.

Just ignore it, okay?

Lis.

I hear there is a hit list, and if you are Christian, straight, or anti-abortion you are on it. I don't have to tell you who is doing this, you are smart enough to know. The question is who's next?

I rarely blog here now because of the infighting. It seems others are doing the same which is very sad for Orble. I just wish everyone could blog in peace and just avoid the blogs they don't like. In the end all of us lose when writers leave.

I posted the following on Writers' Forum and sent a personal message to Jon containing the same questions.

Several months ago, S.L. Bradish suggested a debate on some current topic with someone whose views were different from hers. I accepted the offer/challenge and, over the past month or so, we exchanged views on “abortion” on www.myapologetics.com, hosted and moderated by Damo. While neither SL nor I expected to have the other converted to our point of view, we thought a civil, mature exchange of views might be interesting, increase traffic and, Lord willing, make a bit of money!

It now appears that, for reasons of which I am not aware, Damo’s site has been removed and the “debate” gone.

I would think it in everyone’s’ interest to promote debates and increased traffic. Has anyone thought of a way to encourage this? Is the exchange between SL and me lost?

I really have enjoyed jousting with those whose opinions are different from mine but. alas, too many posts from the Right are filled with silly and childish name calling. What is upsetting, to me, is that the "debate" with SL received little or no notice or interest.

This is all a load of strangeness. Makes me quite happy my own blog has absolutely nothing to do with politics or religion. Or any of that touchy stuff. My opinions have been made quite clear and that's that.

I do think that the political/religious blogs are the ones that will end up targeted by any sort of reporting or moderation because those are such touchy subjects, and nobody can tell me that there isn't at least one blogger here that has been led into flaming another when debating certain subjects.

Personally I think that these blogs are actually better off somewhere else...

Also, personally, since I have nowhere else to put my blog and I'm not about to just stop blogging (oh, and considering the fact that my blog is safe from censorship due to subject material) I'm not leaving. But those who have left have their reasons and it is understandable.

Damo's been around for such a long time I doubt Jon would want to delete him/his blog for sheer backlash.

Anyway.

Why is this post missing?

"Would you recognise a parody of yourself?"

Did you delete, or was it deleted for you?

Either way, it should have stood - unedited and untouched. It was within accepted site policy, for you and for the people who commented.

I was not ashamed to admit my failings, nor were others.

No Elisabeth, I did not deleted it as my access has been blocked - I also read over the sites terms & conditions and believe I acted within the rule book.

Obviously Jon felt otherwise.
