I work and am numb…
Friendly smiles
I wonder what I am
If I will be what I want to be
And what I will be doing when I’m there
Nowhere seems far away
Lost in translation
The people say
Welcome back
But in turn they will you away
With their concerns
There simplistic ways
There never ending questioning
When life is not set out in stone
Decisions
And choices
Never accessible
The easy way out
Is never good enough
Pushing… Pushing… I go
Never far enough
From the world I love
I want to be on a street I don’t know
A place with no name familiar
People acknowledge you
For who you are
Not what they know of you
My hair is short
And forever different
In the place I long for
I don’t know why I feel this way
Things are just meant the way they are
Hurt myself again today
The silly thing is that its happened before
Many times before
Self pain is the hardest to forgive
Its you… You can’t forget
Memories fade and grow
Hating the things that remind me of you…
Forever trying harder to forget than remember
One day these things will be hardest to remember.
