Ultimate Beatles Fans!!!!!!!!!!!!

October 10th 2008 07:42
BeatlesMania!!
Love love me do...........Are you a mad Beatles fan as much as i am. Well Liverpool is the place to be. I never knew about what Liverpool had to offer until i heard somebody talking about the Cavern, and then i looked it up online. The Cavern is one of the most famous clubs in the world, with signature names such as the Beatles, Elton John, Oasis all starting their multi million dollar careers here.

For beatles fan, Liverpool also has many tributes situated around town such as The Hard days night hotel, with rooms ranging from around 100 pound a night, The Beatles story (a venue dedicated to the history of the Beatles), Tours including the Beatles magical mystery tour, Cavern Club shop, and the Casbah Coffee club one of the Beatles original venues.

For anyone interested in more information my best advice is to have a look on the visit liverpool website. It has all the information you need along with cheaper hotel rates. You cant go to liverpool without staying at the hard days night hotel, its a must.

How to get to Liverpool from london. I researched this in some detail and the cheapest way of getting there if going from london is on the national express coaches. For a return ticket is is under 30 pound, alot cheaper than the train.

Good luck and enjoy

Mexican Tours

October 7th 2008 09:14
Chichen Itza

Mexico is a very interesting and broad culture so there is alot to see and do. Mexico is a place of many contrast including belief structures, celebrations, scenery, wildlife, architecture and the list goes on.

For people who love pyramids this article will be for you. I plan to do a series of articles all relating to different things to do and see in Mexico. This one will focus on the Mayan culture.

A few interesting facts about the mayans is they have a 260 day calendar opposed to a 365 day calendar. Another interesting fact is that they have a 13 day week as opposed to our 7 day week. The astrology chart is completely different with different signs and symbollic meanings. It is hard to understand the differences without being there. One of the sights that help to explain certain cultural aspects of the Mayan's is Chichen Itza. This is one of the most famous archiological sights in the world and for good reasons. With the ruins surrounding the area there are many tales to be told and is a must see. Just amazing. This is for young and old to see, it is one of the most spectacular sights i personally have ever seen and strongly recommend it to anybody young and old.

Imagine this, a ball game that resulted in decapitation of your teams captains head. This is how decisions were made in Chichen Itza. to find out more get your butt down there.

The best way to go and see Chichen Itza is to go on a day tour out to the villages which leave everyday from Cancun and surrounding areas. The tours are around 10-12hours however much worth the trip. You even get to try some more traditional cuisine outside of the tourist regions.

Make sure if you are heading to the east coast of mexico include Chichen Itza into your must do and see.
Cheers

Overseas Powerpoint adapters (LINK)

All In 1 International Travel adapter
One thing that is absolutely essential for the modern day traveller is items such as an ipod, digital camera, hairdryer, hair straitener. So this applies to anyone travelling outside of your own country.

Dont forget to take your powerpoint adapter. The best option is to purchase an all in 1 international travel adapter. It is absolutely fantastic, you can usually pick them up for around $20 and they have a usb port included. I have included a link that will show you an ebay seller and it also has a detailed decription of what functions the adapter has. Check it out, it will save you money and time especially if you are travelling to multiple regions

Its Illegal to feed the pigeons

One of the most unusual topics i encountered while in London was that it is illegal to feed the pigeons. How strange. You can actually get fined 50 pound and arrested if caught feeding pigeons particularly in Trafalgar Square

Okay if you are travelling on a tight budget here are some handy tips that you can try on your trip.

Take as much free food as you can. Say for instance if you are staying at a hotel/hostel/Bed and breakfast, and breakfast is included try and take some bread, yoghurt, jam sachets etc. You will find that you will use these on day trips and save yourself a good amount of money especially in those more expensive locations like Paris and London. Another good thing, when your at resturants/cafes, take the ketchup sachets and if they have complimentary tea bags, or coffee take these aswell, you never know when you will want a coffee and there are no facilities around. You might feel a bit dodgy but there are better things to spend you money on
