Hack it

September 1st 2007 13:14
So I sat down at my computer and as my mouse came too close to the top a little menu dropped down; from my sound card or some shit. I hate that shit. Those little menus which add themselves on and you have to be careful where you hover the mouse for too long because its gonna pop out and get in your way and take ages to slowly creep away afterwards. Then I thought that's right I just got a new computer so I haven't gotten rid of all this shit yet. Then I stopped myself really quickly, what a stupid thought, I don't have a new computer, I've had this for 6 months now. I was thinking about a new laptop at work that I had just started to use sometimes.

**All this took place in the time of about a second, I tried to put it as a narrative, but it was more of a wave. trough, peak, trough.**

I was a bit relieved at that moment. But I was also a bit surprised, because i had not separated the interface at work from the interface at home... at some level...

there's interface thinking. Its its own part. Interface thinking. when you're in it you are interface thinking. It's working out how to relate to things, on a computer its working out which buttons to click and what to type where. It doesn't separate which interface it is in, it just works on the interface, it doesn't know if you're at work or at home or in an internet cafe. Those are different situations. You know that, but it doesn't. It just works on the interface. The other types of thinking are its master. HAHAHA how it feels to be a master, to be the mastermind. You feel for the weak and you think their suffering makes me evil, but you do not know that you are me, you are the evil one. For you keep that poor primative fool, who's just unquestioningly trying to get around in the world, and you keep him in your cage, steer him blindly into doing your bidding. You are the one who is exploiting people, the masses, the one's who are doing so little thinking that they are being exploited for it. Once it was about ploughing fields for you and shit, now its buying shit from your stores. Are they evil for manipulating the masses into doing their bidding? Is it not that to manipulate them is evil, to leave them alone is neutral, and to try to help them is good. If you were to help them by educating them or providing them medicine or by campaigning for their rights, will this not affect their course? how is this different from the way the exploiters affect their course? You do it with your own interest just as they do. You believe your way to be good if not best, just as they do. You want to affect other people, you want to dominate other people. Even if you want to effect other people by entering into a dialogue with them, where both of you contribute and all that shit, you are still enforcing the value that that is a good way of dealing with things, better than manipulating, etc. But that is a manipulation. There is no innocent way that you can interact with, and thus influence, other people. So if you're gonna go out there, go out there hard and don't make any appologies, because everybody's playing the same game whether they admit it or not. You don't hear any acetics telling you what they hate about you. In fact you don't hear from them at all. There's no chance you're pissing them off or stepping on their rights or any of that shit, they've got themselve's covered, you go on about your shit. And those that are left in the pool are the one's who haven't bothered to work it out for themselves and those who have worked it out and are deciding to use it to manipulate other people. So if you're out there in this sea of a society. I cry out to you from across the waves of a torrent ocean. Hello? HELLO? I'M HERE! THIS IS FREAKIN AWESOME!!!!!

I can't believe you were riding the wave. wasn't that awesome? if not, then you weren't riding the wave. Sorry looks like you missed out. maybe you should try again, or maybe just forget about it.

P.S. Damn, well I can't stop that sometimes you gotta go with it. But maybe I'll do another post about what I wanted to say. The point was going to be that soon we'll bring our computer interface with us everywhere, you won't have a different one at work or at a friends house. You won't use anyone else's computer. Well you definitely won't use their interface. That is to say that you will never deal with a separate interface. Every single device will be entirely hyper connected. Nothing will be local. hard drive=local storage will be gone. computer's won't have huge hard drives, they'll have quicker access to all the content available over the internet than we currently have access to your local hard drive. Download and upload will be antiquated notions. You'll say "Remember when you had these barely adequate local storage methods and you used to transfer things around. Put this file on my mp3 player, download that file from the web, buy this CD. You will have quicker access to the web than you currently have access to your local hard drive. Think about it, your local hard drive is now no more local to you than to anyone on the net. Which might also no longer be describible as more than the web, well everything will be web accessable, but that's a different matter. The point is that you won't go to work and use their computer, because you have the same access to your computer as you did when you were at home. You and your computer are the team, someone employs you because of your qualifications and your history and your intelligence, but he also judges you on the basis of the, what we would call today your computer but for the interest of this lets call it the interface you bring with you. It is one of your characteristics. It follows you around in the same way your physical characteristics follow you around, or your social character follows you around, it's there so often its worthwhile to call it part of you. Damn, now this is becoming a ramble as a post script to a ramble. Is that legal? well the point is that the self is just constructed as a consensus between a bunch of things which happen to be around eachother often, sometimes they like to imagine that they comprise a greater whole, think there is a self. But they are a bunch of entities no more separate from the rest, imagining themselves to be in control of one corner of the blanket, as they tore at it from its infinite middle. Watch them struggle with a false reality. do not pity them, for they are primitive and they do not know that they struggle in vain, and despite the unity of infinity.
