The Giants have won Super Bowl XLVI, so what happens now? The True form of the offseason takes place. The scouting combine and then the draft are the next closest form of football until next August.
We are all awaiting for the Colts standing on their quarterback Peyton Manning. This is the biggest story for the next few weeks. Speculation has Manning not returning to the team next year. So where would he go? The Washington Redskins and the Miami Dolphins would be the two team with the most interest in getting a quarterback. The Colts would replace Manning with Andrew Luck who will most likely be their pick in the draft.
For now we can debate on who is going to be drafted where, who the best players are going to be next year, and who the best teams are going to be. It is going to feel like an eternity until August, but at least there will be for sure a NFL season. Let the debating begin!
Super Bowl XLVI will feature the NFC Champion New York Giants against the AFC Champion New England Patriots. There is only two days left before the big game which means it is time for a prediction of the winner. I think the New York Giants will come out on top in this the next chapter of the super bowl.
Eli Manning may not be the better of the two quarterbacks, he has better offensive weapons. Ahmad Bradshaw and Brandon Jacobs are going to be able to run on the Patriot defense. This is going to have the very weak secondary something else to worry about. This running game is going to allow Manning to work off of play action and be able to hit Hakeem Nicks or Victor Cruz. Both of these wide receivers are deep threats and can get open. The giants third option is Mario Manningham. He will be a good target all game because of the lack of depth in Patriots secondary. Julian Edelman is the New England Patriots wide receiver, special teams specialist, and sometimes defensive back. When a team is resorting to players like this, that is problem. The Giants are going to be able to find this mismatch and exploit it.
The Giant defense is going to be able to get pressure on Tom Brady. With the lack of a running game, the Patriots are going to rely heavily on the pass. The Giants secondary will match up pretty well against the smaller receivers of the Patriots, who also lack a deep threat. Rob Gronkowski, who is the Patriots best offensive weapon, still is suffering from a high ankle sprain. This is going to make him easier to cover.
Overall the Giants are the better of the two teams. They are well coached by Tom Coughlin. Even when you think they are out of a game, they play continue to play hard and end up coming back. Eli Manning is outstanding in the fourth quarter and he will be leading his team to victory.
The New York Giants can claim their fourth super bowl championship Sunday with a win. The last time they appeared in the big game was four years ago when they knocked off the then undefeated Patriots. Since then, the Giants have had the Patriots' number. In week 9 of this season the Giants handed the Patriots a loss.
Since week 17 the Giants have been in playoff mode. This week off will help rest players to 100%. There are no significant injuries to any Giants players. Plus, Tom Coughlin is one of the best coaches in big time games. He knows how to get his players focused and ready even with all the distractions.
As far as their key to victory, the Giants are going to need to establish the running game. With the threat of the run, Eli Manning will be able to hit deep balls to either Hakeem Nicks or Victor Cruz. The Patriots defensive secondary is already weak and vulnerable to begin with. Adding more elements they have to cover will help out the Giants offense.
The defense of the Giants is one of the best in the league. they can get a pass rush with just their four down linemen. This is going to be their key on defense. Get in the face of Tom Brady. This will allow eight men to drop back to defend the pass and take away Brady's favorite options.
With a game that will produce points and come down to the fourth quarter, the Giants are going to need another great performance by Manning. With key stops on defense, the Giants can be bringing another championship to the Big Apple.
This Sunday the New England Patriots will try and add to their trophy collection with a fourth Lombardi Trophy. This is there first time back to the big game since 2008 when they lost to the New York Giants and their fifth since 2001. The 2008 Patriots are the best team to never win the super bowl as they entered that game undefeated. Then in week 9 of this season the Giants beat the Patriots 24-20, and since that loss the Patriots have not lost a game. With only one game left, will the Patriots be able break their losing habit to the Giants?
The biggest key to victory for the Patriots is protecting Tom Brady. With Rob Gronkowski still day-to-day from the high ankle sprain he suffered in the AFC Championship game, Brady is going to need to time to find his other targets. Wes Welker is going to have to find ways to get open on the outside, while the other tight end Aaron Hernandez will have to become the new beast over the middle

Super Bowl week is one of the best and saddest weeks of the year. It's the best because we have waited all year to crown a champions. It is the saddest because there is only one game left before a long offseason.
It is time to start making predictions and making party plans. The game is only six days away. Six days to a new champions. Six days to glory. During that time we can relive this past season, and past champions. We can celebrate the one thing that has brought every American together for the last 46 years. But then once the game is over we will have to wait. We will wait for a new season to entertain us, and to bring us another team we can celebrate and call champion

This Sunday is the annual Pro Bowl played in Honolulu, Hawaii. Players are voted in by the fans, the coaches, and other players. Each one of those counts for 1/3 of the vote. The game itself has become worse over the years. Players play at 75% speed and basic offensive play calling with no blitzing from the defense. It is nothing more than a paid vacation for these guys

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell had his contract extended through the year 2018. Goodell has been commissioner since 2006 when he took over for the retiring Paul Tagliabue. In 2011, Goodell successfully brought an end to a four and half month lock out, and was able to sign network extensions with ESPN, FOX, CBS, and NBC. Goodell is continually working on player safety and discipline as new rules and stricter fines have been brought about in his administration.

Yesterday the Indianapolis Colts fired Head Coach Jim Cladwell just a couple of weeks after the surprise firings of Vice Chairman Bill Polian and General Manager Chris Polian. Then today, actor Rob Lowe, who is friends with Colts owner Jim Irsay, tweeted that Peyton Manning may be retiring. So then what are the plans of the Colts this offseason?
To begin with the Colts hold the #1 overall pick in the 2012 draft after having a 2-14 season. No matter who the Colts hire as new head coach, there is little doubt they will pass on QB Andrew Luck from Stanford. If Manning does retire, this will put to rest what would happen if Manning are both on the roster next season. For both of those QB's to be on the roster, Irsay still has to decide if he will pay the $28M salary to Manning for next year. On top of all that, there is still no certainty Manning's neck, which was surgically repaired last September, will be strong enough for him to play

Super Bowl XLVI will feature the New England Patriots and the New York Giants. This is a rematch of Super Bowl XLII where the Giants beat the previously unbeaten Patriots 17-14. But these two teams are completely different than they were four years ago.
Both teams struggled during their league championship games, but found ways to win. In two weeks though, things will be different. There is an off week which will allow both teams to rest. This will help the Giants more because they have been playing playoff games since week 17 when they had to beat the Dallas Cowboys to get in. The Patriots need the rest, especially tight end Rob Gronkowski who hurt his ankle in yesterday's game

The NFC Championship game is going to feature the New York Giants against the San Francisco 49ers.
The 49ers are coming off an emotional victory over the New Orleans Saints after a spectacular catch by Tight End Vernon Davis, which has been dubbed "The Catch III." The Niners are going to have be able to put that victory behind them and concentrate on the sizzling hot Giants. Like there Super Bowl run a few years ago, the Giants have gotten hot at the right time are playing outstanding football. They have found a resurgence in there running game behind Running Backs Ahmad Bradshaw and Brandon Jacobs.
