Welcome to Greed & Vanity
September 2nd 2009 01:11
It has long been my contention that the vast majority of the worlds ills can be attributed to either Greed, Vanity, or a combination of the two. Don't believe me, then let's start with Greed...
Greed: Where to begin, I could mention Kenneth Lay and Enron, nah that's just too easy-- how about Bernie Madoff, who made-off (sorry, couldn't help myself) with $65 Billion dollars of his inventors money? Again, nothing new.
Let's not forget all the greedy bankers who are still getting bonuses after crippling our banking system and taking billions of our taxpayer dollars in bailout. That really irks me. Where's my bailout for jacking the interest rate on my credit card up to 29.99% on a whim?
So listen up all you greedy corporate types, you're on notice. No longer will I just sit here and watch you cut hours, pay, benefits and jobs all to further your bottom line. I'm taking aim, squarely at you.
Vanity: George W. Bush is the perfect example of vanity run amok. His, "it's my way or the highway," attitude plunged our country not only to the brink of financial ruin, but also mired us in a bait and switch war. But hey, he's positive that he was right. Vanity, pure and simple.
Now that you know what to expect, strap yourself in, and tune in next time, where I will cover just who the greedy buggers are who don't want marijuana legalized.
